The princess hurried along one of the many hallways in the palace, her boots clicking against the marble. She had received an urgent message from her older sister to come to her room immediately. The letter had sounded quite serious, yet Navy wasn't sure if she could trust it- after all, her big sister was unpredictable.
She finally appeared at the huge wooden door and stormed into the room, not bothering to knock. Her older sister sat in an armchair beside the fireplace, the dim moonlight shining through the arch window being the only light in the room. Navy raised an eyebrow at the older of the two- she seemed quite calm, sipping her tea with great elegance.
Typical.
"What do you want, Victorique?" The younger sibling smiled mischievously as the name received a groan and a shudder from the other.
"Just like you to use that name for me. It's Victoria, Navia."
"And it's Navy, Victoria." Navy pouted, putting her hands on her hips. She was becoming incredibly impatient. "Now, what do you want? Why did you call me over so urgently?" Victoria took another sip from her cup, leaving almost complete silence. Navy was slowly becoming more and more irritated. "Well?"
"My candle," Navy grimaced.
"What?"
"My candle. It went out. Could you relight it for me?" Navy froze, clenching her fists in pure rage.
"You are the laziest person on this earth!" Victoria smirked.
"Not really. There's this awfully lazy girl by the name of Navia. Such a pest!" The older of the two burst into a fit of laughter as she was repeatedly slapped by her sister. Nonetheless, Navy went over to the mantelpiece and picked up the matchbox. Hastily, she struck a matchstick against the side of the box, creating a small flame. "Careful, dear sister. You do not want to burn the whole building down." Navy rolled her eyes and lit the candle before heading over to the door. "Hey, where are you going?"
"Bed," Navy frowned, rubbing her eyes. "It's the middle of the night and I'm tired." As she turned back towards the door, her elder sister got up slowly.
"Y'know," She placed her cup onto the mantelpiece and stared into the bright flames the fireplace produced. "I actually wanted to discuss the murders and robberies around the kingdom." Navy stopped in her tracks, looking back at her sister.
"That was quite sudden, don't you think?" No reply. Navy continued. "Is it him again?"
"Yes," Victoria's voice was much more grave than before, when she had been jesting and teasing her little sister mercilessly. "So, what do you suggest we do about it?" Navy sighed, looking down at the ground gloomily.
"I... I don't know, sis."
"I proclaimed you as the next in line to the throne because I knew that you would make sure that the kingdom was safe. I want you to become Queen because I trust you." Victoria sighed, but didn't turn around. "Despite being the oldest, I knew that, if I became Queen, I would shame the whole kingdom. But you," She finally made eye contact with Navy. "You are going to do great things for this kingdom and you are going to stop this man. Right?" Navy looked up and noticed her sister smiling encouragingly. She managed to smile back.
"Right..." She stood there awkwardly for a while before faking a yawn. "Well, I'm famished! I'll be retiring to my chamber."
"Navy,"
"Hm?"
"I do trust you to do what is right. I want you to stay safe. You know that, don't you?"
"Of course," Navy beamed back at her sister, earning a wide smile back. "Goodnight!"
"Goodnight... Princess Navia."

Hehe.
M'kay,
I actually have a better plan for the next chapter, so, that should be good...
Also,
anyoneelsethatwouldliketobeinthis
Can I use your OC's? If so, what would you like them to be (maid, servant, mage, wizard, fairy, ect.) or do you not mind?
Also, yes, I put myself in my own story. Most of the time, I don't do this, because it makes me feel kind of... I don't know how to explain it. But I did anyway, because, firstly, I based Navy off myself, so things between us will be similar, and secondly, I needed someone that would tease her endlessly XD
Hope you enjoyed Chapter One! See you in the next!
(I'll add in a song later)
