~Two Days Later~

*Luke's POV*

"Marina, you need to get up." I whispered.

"Luke go away. I'm trying to sleep." she replied.

"Fine, we can do this the hard way or the easy way. You pick." I said

"How about no way." she said.

I should have known she wasn't going to be easy to wake up today. I walked over to her bed.

"I guess it's the hard way then." I said, while hopping onto her bed and putting a leg on each side of her body.

"Luke Hemmings you better get off of me right now!" she said, trying to be stern. It wasn't working.

Instead of getting off like she asked, I decided it would be fun to tickle her. And it was fun, until she started kicking and flailing her arms.

"Luke get off!" she exclaimed, laughing.

"You have a cute laugh." I said, blushing slightly. She stopped flailing.

"Thank you." she said, blushing.

"Okay so get dressed and meet me downstairs. Wear something nice." I said, getting off of Marina and walking down stairs.

~Marina's POV~

I sat on my bed, still blushing a bit after Luke's compliment. I don't know why I feel like this. I shook the thought out of my head and walked to my bathroom to do my make up, brush my hair, and brush my teeth. I put on my normal thin line of eyeliner and mascara. I walked out of my bathroom and over to my closet to pick out my outfit.

My outfit for today was a black polka dotted sundress and white flats. After looking in the mirror one last time I walked out of my room and down the stairs.

"So, what do you have planned for today?" I asked.

"I'm thinking we can go to the diner in town for lunch and then what we're doing after is a surprise." he replied, with an excited smile.

Without waiting for my answer he grabbed my hand and pulled me out the door. We got in the car and drove to the diner. The car ride there was filled with Luke and I singing to All Time Low and Blink 182. Luke has always been an amazing singer, I've heard that I'm also pretty good at singing but I'm no where near as good as Luke.

After ten minutes of driving we arrived at a place called Franco's. I've seen it before but I've never actually been inside. We walked in and were seated immediately.

"Hello, I'm Ashley and I will be your waitress today. Here are your menus and I will be back in a few minutes to take your drink order." she said, cheerily.

"Thank you." Luke and I said, in unison.

"What are you getting to drink?" I asked.

"Probably apple juice. What are you getting?" he asked.

"Same as you." I replied, with a smile.

While waiting for the waitress to come back to take our drink order I looked over the menu to see what I wanted.

"Are you guys ready to order your drinks?" Ashley asked.

"Yeah, two apple juices please." I said, smiling.

"Okay. I'll be back in a few minutes with your apple juices and to take your order." she said, before she walked away with our drink order.

I looked through the menu one more time before deciding on the grilled chicken sandwich. A few minutes later Ashley was back with our drinks.

"Here you guys go. Are you ready for me to take your order?" she asked.

"I'll have the spaghetti and she will have the grilled chicken sandwich." Luke said.

"Okay, I'll be back with your order." she said.

"Luke, I have a question." I said, while smiling.

"Yeah?" he replied

"Tomorrow will you go with me to adopt a kitten? You can help pick it out with me." I said, grinning widely.

"Sure. What time do you want me to be over?" he asked.

"Why don't you just spend the night? We could watch movies and build a fort in the living room." I said excitedly

"Okay. But I'll have to stop by my house for pajamas and clothes for tomorrow." he said.

Minutes after our conversation Ashley came by with our food.

"Enjoy your lunch." she said, smiling.

"Thank you." Luke and I said.

The entire time Luke and I ate it was pretty quiet between us but I could tell that he was enjoying his spaghetti. When we were finished I took a look at Luke and started giggling.

"What? Why are you giggling? Is there something on my face?" he asked.

"Yeah, seems like you were enjoying your spaghetti a bit too much." I said, while grabbing a napkin and leaning forward to clean the sauce off of his face.

"Thanks." he said, lightly blushing.

Since we were done, we got up, left Ashley a tip, and went up to the counter to pay. Once we were back in the car, Luke began driving to the unknown destination. After around ten or fifteen minutes of driving Luke parked the car and pulled out a bandana and tied it around my head so it was covering my eyes.

"Do I really have to be blindfolded?" I asked.

"Yes you do. It's part of the surprise." he replied.

I let him lead me towards the surprise, not saying anything back to him.

"Just a few more steps Marina." he said.

"Kay." i replied.

"Alright." he said, while taking off my blindfold.

I looked at everything around me. We were at the park that we used to go to when we were kids but it was decorated with a banner that said "Happy Birthday Marina" and purple balloons.

"Oh my gosh, Luke! When did you find the time to decorate?" I asked

"Actually, I didn't decorate it. Ashton, Michael, and Calum did while we were at lunch." he replied, smiling.

"Well even if you didn't decorate I still think it was very nice of you to bring me here, it brings back a lot of great memories." I said, while hugging him.

We stood there and hugged for a bit.

"Remember that one summer you decided it would be fun to climb the tree, so you did but once you reached the top you were too afraid to climb down?" I asked, smiling at the memory.

"Yeah, I also remember that time a butterfly landed on you and you started crying." he said.

For awhile we just sat there talking about our favorite memories at this park. After talking for quite some time, we realized it was getting dark out and so we started cleaning up the decorations. When we were finished we walked back to the car and headed to Luke's house so he could get what he needed for tonight and clothes for tomorrow.

While I waited for Luke to get his stuff and started thinking. What if I do like Luke more than just a friend? But I can't like him that way, he probably doesn't even like me that way. Besides, bestfriends can't fall in love, right? I was pulled away from my thoughts by Luke, who was entering the car.

"Have what you need?" I asked

"Yeah, Last stop, your house!" he exclaimed, smiling at me.

~Author's Note~

Okay so I'm hoping this chapter was better than the others. I guess there was a bit more to it that usual. As usual, if there's anything I need to work on leave it in the comments.

Thanks.
