"Wasn't I supposed to want her to be better? Isn't that how the story goes, you fall in love with a monster and they are supposed to become better." A soft, exasperated sigh left her lips as she wondered where did she go wrong. Carmilla had a horrid past, she killed the innocent and now the relationship they had was gone, obliterated.
Oh Laura, little Laura, you have much to learn. I cannot change who I was in the past, and the past does not change who I am now. Weren't you supposed to see past that, see past the flaws. I am not the perfect hero you wanted, I am far from that. Carmilla gently rubs her thumbs over the screen of her phone. With one last tear, trickling down her face, she pressed the button. Maybe, just maybe you will learn now.
Moments later Laura receives the notification, her phone illuminating the previously dark room. As she unlocks her phone's screen, her hands begin to tremble.
I never wanted things to happen like this. I never wanted for her to - Hate- Me. I never wanted to feel this pain, maybe she was right. I am just a silly girl who is not ready to face the world. But I won't give up. Laura's voice begins to crack. This was her choice after all .
