Next to Gracelynn is my friend, Adolf. Adolf is a youngest of the werewolves kind. Prince Charming hates Adolf since he is a full werewolf. Prince Charming also hates Adolf because they are half-brothers. I prefer hanging out with Adolf; he is always positive, quite playful, and always up for an adventure. He has black hair, green eyes, and sharp canines. He is able to transform as a full wolf whenever he wants to and when he is in human form, he really looks like a boy.
"Hey, Carol!" Adolf jumps on me, bringing me down to the ground.
"Urg! Adolf!" I push him off while laughing, "how many times must I tell you to calm yourself?"
Adolf laughs, "I'm sorry. You know it's hard to keep the wolf down." Even as a boy, Adolf's inner wolf personality shows.
"It's fine," I ruffle his hair. His hair is so soft.
"What took you so long?" Gracelynn asks in her soft, quiet voice.
I sit up and count the events with my fingers, "well, first Mother Goose prepared us breakfast. Secondly, Red stopped me and talked to me about her plans on visiting her grandmother. And lastly, Prince Charming stopped me and talked to me."
Adolf growls, "what did the prince want?"
"He invited me to the ball." I roll my eyes.
Adolf laughs, "oh, gross! What did you say?"
"Well, I said no of course. I would never go to a ball with him!"
"Poor, Red." Gracelynn says, changing the topic.
"Why poor Red?" Adolf asks.
"Don't you remember?" Gracelynn asks Adolf to which he shakes his head, "of course not. You were only a pup. A few years ago, her grandmother had gotten eaten by a wolf right in front of her. Red went through so much stress that she made herself forget the memory entirely. She has no idea that her grandmother is dead."
"Then, why is she visiting her?" Adolf asks, looking quite confuse. It was an adorable look on him.
I answer for Gracelynn, "because she doesn't know her grandmother is dead. And we can't tell her because she'll throw another fit. Last time she threw a fit, she practically destroyed the whole town! She doesn't remember that either. She blocked it from her memory. So now, once a week, my father finds people to dress up as her granny. Unfortunately, the villagers are getting tired of helping. They want her to get over her grandmother's death. But we can't do that. She mustn't know the truth."
"Oh wow..." Adolf whispers in awe.
"I'm surprised you don't remember. You're young, but not that young."
Adolf shrugs, "the wolf family ages differently. I am five years younger than Prince Charming, two years younger than you technically but since I age very slowly, I am pretty much twenty years younger than you guys."
"I've been alive way younger than Prince but he is older."
"It's because he ages fast like a human but he looks young because of the wolf blood he has." Adolf looks like Gracelynn who has been very quiet and asks, "how old are you?"
Gracelynn flips her mane out of her eyes and answers, "I could easily be your grandmother."
"No wonder grown ups never tell us their ages. It's all too complicated." Adolf says then lays down next to me. He has his arms under his head and is looking up at the stars. "This is so boring! When will we go on another adventure?"
"Right now!" I say as I stand up, "come on."
"Where are we going?" Gracelynn asks.
"Doesn't matter as long as we're going somewhere." I grin.
