"I don't think you understand. I'm not renewing my contract unless I can start seeing Charlie again." I tell the management team. "I'm not tied to this studio any longer. I have many other studios that are willing to play to my terms.
"I'll be leaving with her." Kaitlin voices, "I've been given the offer to transfer in where ever she decides she wants to go."
"You're our best agent." One of the management board members says.
"Not unless you bend to our terms." Kaitlin says, "Did you notice the trends on Twitter and Facebook?" Kaitlin hands out packets of trends since Charlie and my break up, also it has the stats of my songs since we broke up.
"It says that her fan-base decreased by 15%." One of the management team members says.
"A few of the trends are as following #bringbackCharabeth. #Annsonnotreal. #Charabeth4Ever." Kaitlin continues. "Many of Annabeth's following were very inspired by Charlie and Annabeth's relationship. It was so honest, down to earth, but when you decided that having Annabeth and Jason fake date, the fan-base suffered. Many of them know the stunts management teams pull to make the fan-base increase." Kaitlin continues, "Unless you are going to agree to the terms and conditions that I have written here, you can kiss Annabeth's music goodbye."
"It says we have no control anything that she does, musically, socially, or personally, what is it we can do?" One of the board members asks.
"Back up her decisions. You'll see on line five, in paragraph ten, on page fifteen." Kaitlin recites easily. "Comet Records can and will back up every decision regarding Annabeth Grace Kennedy's personal, musical, and social life, they will not be allowed to tell her who to date, when to date, when to record, or when to tour, these will fall around the school schedule provided on page twenty-nine."
"I refuse to sign something like this, there's no point in having a management team if they can't manage the client." The head of the team says.
"I agree." The other members begin to talk. "As of now you are no longer signed under Comet Records."
"I think that decision lays with me and me alone." Jonathan says walking into the meeting. The board sits up straighter their faces going back to neutral. "May I see the contracts please?" Kaitlin hands him a copy of the contract, "I see nothing wrong with this. Annabeth is clearly capable of handling her own personal and professional lives. She has proven this numerous times in the past. I will personally take on your contract; your team is no longer working over you. I will have you all assigned to a new artist by the end of the week." Jonathan says signing the contract. "Do we have a deal?"
I look to Kaitlin who holds out her hand for Jonathan. Jonathan shakes her hand.
"Thank you Uncle John." I tell him hugging him, "You won't regret it."
"Why don't you go talk to that boyfriend of yours. Maybe your music will start to lighten up again."
"I'll be in the studio on Saturday!" I tell him racing out of the office down the stairs and outside where the familiar varsity jacket and brown haired boy waits. He looks up from his phone and sees me his whole face lightens and I launch myself into his arms.
"Welcome back Beth." He whispers almost silently.
"I'm so happy to be back." I answer him just as softly letting him press a gentle kiss to my lips.
