~Stronger than you Know~

You walked around, feeling completely dejected after the battle that had just taken place. Jakob walked beside you, trying to be of some comfort. You didn't know how to feel. Both of your brothers had just completely shut you down.

You sat down on a small patch of grass, hugging your knees. Did the fact you wanted peace so much mean nothing to them?

Then again, you had just met Ryoma, but felt you could justify his feeling of betrayal. He had waited so many years to find you again and for what? To just have you leave. Though, he shouldn't have expected you to side with him right away. I mean come on, you had just met him. Even after the emotional reunion with him and your mother, you still didn't know what to feel. This was all so new to you. He said he was your brother, but you had no clue until you got brought to Hoshido that you had anymore family. How could he just expect you to leave all that you knew and loved for people you had never met before?

You were completely mixed about Xander's reasoning. Yes, you had technically betrayed all of Nohr by not choosing a side, particularly him, but he was your brother! He of all people shouldn't have shunned you like that. He should have understood. He always said he would be with you no matter what, through thick and thin. He lied to you and that hurt.

What about Camilla, Elise, and Leo? What were they thinking about this whole ordeal? You were sure they hated you just like Xander, and that hurt more than anything else. The siblings that once cared and loved you were now sworn against you. It completely broke your heart.

At this point you were feeling completely shattered. You loved them more than anything and that was all taken away by just a few words. On top of that, you had successfully pissed off both Nohr and Hoshido, possibly making the situation worse all because you couldn't choose a side. You thought about how horrible you were. How selfish of you not to choose.

You let out a defeated sniffle as a tear fell from one of your eyes. You were a horrible person.

"M'lady please do not cry."

You quickly wiped away the tear, shaking your head.

"I don't deserve to shed tears. I just made the situation worse. I don't deserve to feel bad when I made countless more lives out there worse."

Jakob pursed his lips seriously and decided it would be better to sit beside you instead of standing.

"Don't speak like that. They should not have forced such a choice on you, knowing it would cause you so much pain."

Your breath caught in the back of your throat as hot tears now ran down your cheeks, successfully wetting a good portion of your face. Through the crying you tried to speak.

"I never wanted conflict. I wanted to unite them. I wanted and still want us to all get along and be peaceful."

"Lady (Y/N), do I have permission to rub your back?"

You were too far into crying to care about anything else at the moment and nodded quickly. As soon as Jakob placed his gloved hand to your back, you crumbled into his chest, crying harder. His hushed voice rang through the air.

"Please do not cry. It pains me to see you in such a state. We will figure something out."

You wrapped your arms around him, sniffling a bit. Jakob stiffened at first, but a moment later, he returned the hug; enveloping you in his arms. You felt safe with Jakob. He always knew how to help you feel better. His arms were a luxury you didn't feel like you deserved at the moment.

"M'lady?"

"H-Hmm?"

Jakob quietly pulled away and placed a finger under your chin.

"Cheer up. Crying over this will not solve anything. We must stand tall and start fighting for the peace between both Hoshido and Nohr."

"I can't."

"And why can't you? Were you not taught by Prince Xander to fight well? Do you not feel passion to fight for what you know to be right?"

You stayed silent for a moment. You were always so weak. Yes, Xander had trained you ever since you turned 11, but even after so many years of training you still couldn't beat him. What were you, a little girl who didn't even know about the outside world until recently, going to do? What could you do?

"I'm weak! I always have been and always will be!"

"M'lady! I am sorry for raising my voice, but you are so much more than you think yourself to be. You have grown into a strong young lady. Just yesterday you defeated Prince Xander in a duel of swords, something even the most skilled swords men struggle to do. Let us not forget, you are also strong in character! Instead of taking the least challenging route, you chose to stick up for the beliefs you harbor inside you. If that is not a strong woman, I do not know the meaning of the word strong."

You sat there wide eyed and shocked. How could he believe in you so confidently? At this point your tears had calmed down. Jakob pulled a handkerchief out and started dabbing you face here and there, cleaning you up.

"You're so sure of me Jakob... Thank you. It is greatly appreciated to at least have someone on my side."

"It is my pleasure m'lady. Just remember that no matter where you go or what choices you make, I will follow you."

"Jakob..." A half smile formed on your face. It felt nice to have someone on your side, especially right now when you needed it more than ever.

A small chuckle erupted from his mouth as he successfully cleaned the last of your tears up.

"There we are. Shall we stay here for a bit longer or find comfort elsewhere?"

"I think here is just fine..."

Without thinking, you leaned your head on his shoulder, closing your eyes. You really didn't know what you would do without Jakob by your side.

"M'lady?"

"Hmm..."

"Ah never mind, just get some rest."

You nodded a little, quickly falling asleep.

A few minutes later, Jakob slinked his arm around you. You didn't notice it while you were awake, but Jakob looked at you with a fondness that was shameful for a butler to have towards his mistress. Jakob just smiled and kissed the top of your head.

"Sleep well (Y/N)."

A/N: I know, it's horrible. ;-; I wanted to try this out though cause I have been totally obsessed with Fire Emblem for the past few years. Haha, anyway tell me if you want me to do more FE characters. Warning: I've only played Awakening and Fates. (Please love me.)
