Kookie: What are you doing?
Me: Going to work.
Kookie: Where do you work?
Me: Salty's Coffee shop.
Kookie: 😱😱😱😱😱My friends and I go there all the time!
Me: Really! Then how have we not seen each other before😂
Kookie: idk😂😂 If I have time today I'll come over. Okay?
Me: Sure!! I have to go now. See ya!
Kookie: Bye Sarah!
I walked into the coffee shop with a smile on my face. I placed my stuff in the back and put on my apron.
"You look happy today." Nari said as I walked behind the counter. Being the manager, Nari was always here early.
"Yeah." I said setting out some coffee cups.
"Wanna tell me why?" She pushed.
"It's a long story." I said even though I was itching to tell her.
"I've got time." She smirked and crossed her arms as she leaned up against the counter. I sighed seeing that we didn't have any customers yet.
"Fine. When I was on the bus going home after work, I dropped my phone and accidentally switched it with the guy sitting next to me." I said trying to find something to busy myself with.
"And.... Was he hot?" She asked.
"Maybe." I answered hiding my face as it turned a light shade of pink.
"Did you guys meet up and switched phones back?" She asks walking towards me seeming anxious.
"Yeah." I said nonchalantly while wiping off the counter with a wet rag.
"Where did you meet?" She asked.
"The ice cream shop."
"Did he buy you icecream?"
"Yes."
"What's his name? How old is he? Do you know where he lives?" She pushed bombarding me with questions.
"Stop with all the questions. I know your just trying to find someone suitable as a boyfriend. I don't know his name. But he added his number into my phone and the name is down as Kookie. I'm pretty sure he's our age." I walked away, getting a bit annoyed.
Nari was a great manager, even if she was young, but she always flirted with a guy if she came near one. It wasn't like 'oh I'm so special I should have every guy' it's more like 'oh look! A cute guy. Maybe we could end up dating.'
The bell to the front door rang and I rushed back to the front to start work for the day.
Nari and I sat down at a booth as the lunch rush subsided and nobody else was in the shop. Today was busier than usual. Nari and were exhausted.
The bell rang again and I rushed up to get behind the counter.
"Hello! Welcome to Salty's Coffee shop. What would you like today?" I said the phrase for the millionth time, warmly.
"Hey Sarah!" I looked up at the person who said my name and a smile found its way onto my face. It was the customer from yesterday.
"Oh! Hey! How have you been?" I asked as he sat down at the bar.
"Tired, but good." He said smiling. "How about you?"
