I woke with the sun in my eyes, making me squint. I was sore and stiff. My clothes were dry but also stiff. When I checked my surroundings, it took me a minute to remember where I was. The room was the same as when I fell asleep, the door still closed.
I leaned off of the wall and stood up. Now that there was light, I was able to examine the room. The bed wasn't made. Cups and food wrappers rested on the nightstand. Books and paper were thrown across the floor. It looked the room of a teenage boy. Which it probably was.
I slowly and quietly walked to the door and opened it. Light voices could be heard, coming from the living room. I stepped out and awkwardly walked towards the voices.
The first face I saw was his, warm and beautiful. Then I saw more familiar faces that turned towards me. All of them stood up but the only one to walk towards me was Jungkook.
"Are you hungry?" He asked carefully. I gently nodded my head.
"Here. There's some eggs and bacon if you want any. It might be kind of cold but it should still be good." A blue plate sat alone at a wooden table next to the living room.
I sat down and awkwardly started eating. Jungkook sat in the seat next to me and watched me eat. Actually, they all watched me eat. Except for Jin. I didn't know where he was. But I hated their eyes on me. It made me feel out of place and the only sound in the room was me eating.
When I was done eating, I wiped my runny nose and leaned back in my chair.
"So, what now?" I asked.
"Now, we go talk to someone. He's been waiting for you. But before we do that, you should probably change." Jungkook said from beside me.
He led me back to his room where he pulled out some sweatpants and a t-shirt. Both were too large on me but I didn't really care. They both smelled like him and that's all I could really think of.
The boys took me back to the elevator and we went to the floor below us. We walked to an office and sat down inside. And organized desk sat before us but nobody sat behind it. At least for a little while.
A tall man dressed in a business suit came and sat down in the rolling chair.
"Hello Sarah, I'm Mr. Chin. I'm the boy's manager." I nodded to him while keeping my head down. I wiped at my nose again and sniffled.
"I suppose you've heard about the recent news. Since things have started to get out of hand, we've thought of a plan. One that involves you and the boys." I didn't look up but I could sense the boys looking at each other and me. They knew as much as I knew. Nothing.
"Recently, we sent you a letter. But I assume you didn't open it because you never got ahold of us." Letter? Could he be talking about that one I got the day that Mi left me?
"Before I tell you our plan, I have a question." Mr. Chin stood and and walked around his desk to lean against it right in front of me. "Isn't this you?" He tapped a button on his laptop and a recording started. It took me a minute to understand what was playing. But when I did, I looked at him, straight in the eyes, shocked.
The song that I had sang a million times. The song that held so many emotions and memories. The song I sang on that day. It was playing and I was the one singing it. I had never heard a recording of myself singing. It was something I did when no one was around.
