     Jacob's POV

I don't know what she's smiling about, but it seems to make her happy, so I'm good. The bubbling water felt great everywhere but my wound, where it stung like a gun. I slowly dipped my arm all the way into the water. When it reached the wound, I yelped.

     "SON OF A MOTHERLESS GOAT!"

     Jane turned, "What?!"

"SCUM-SUCKING SWINE, YOU SONS OF A MOTHERLESS GOAT!"

Jane ran up to me and checked my temperature, "Jacob, I think you're delirious. Calm down"

"I'm not delirious... That just hurt like nothing else"

"No, I'm serious. You're fever is ridiculous. We've gotta get you to a warm, dry place"

I started to see her point when the ground got brighter and started swaying. Every footstep I made in the direction of the camp, Jane would have to pull me back to the path. But she was wrong. I knew my way back to camp, I pulled her behind me and made a mad dash through the woods. They were chasing us. I turned and realized it was Jane, that traitor. I let go and sprinted through the trees, trying to lose her. I did when I ducked into a shallow cave and hid in the corner. She ran past and her footsteps faded. My breathing calmed and I observed my surroundings. The cave went in 12 blocks, then ended in a wall of solid coal. A single torch hung in its everlasting light over an iron door. To the left was a button. I pushed the button and walked forward into darkness. The hallway led on and on and on... the light fading behind me. I came across another door, the one wooden. I pushed it open and behold the monstrosity before me. A massive cavern filled with command blocks and redstone. I flipped a lever on the wall and light filled the room. A plaque rested on the entryway, emblazoned with the words: 126th private experiment: project new life

     'TIS BEAUTIFUL, NO?

     "What is this?"

     ME, IN MY PRIMITIVE FORM

I sprinted for the machine and reached for a switch labeled "terminate" in the program.

     Then woke up.

Jane was sitting beside me with her head in her hands.

     "Jane?"

She started, "Jacob? Is that you?"

"Yeah, feels like I took a two-way trip to the Nether and back, but I'm good"

"Jacob", she looked at me, tears in her eyes, "You were dead for 5 minutes"
