Chapter 9.

Before I talked to Seiki I wanted to call the hospital. I needed to talk to Claire about what happened and what I should do. I knew I was gonna have to ask Seiki about it sometime but should I wait?

I picked up my phone and dialed Claire's number.

The number yo-

I tried again but got the same result.

"Damn it!" I felt an urge to throw the phone in the floor but I didn't.

What should I do?! I thought.

Wait..! Didn't I get Alec's number too?

I checked my contacts (wich only had like 5 numbers) and saw his name furthest up.

I breathed in mentally.

"Let's get over with this" I quietly told myself before pressing "Dial".

"Alec." I heard Alec's voice.

"H-Hi Alec.."

"Ain? I thought you said you'd never call me. What's up?" I heard the his smirk thru the phone.

"I need too talk to Claire." I said in my usual tone.

"Oh.. I thought you had her number." He sounded dissapointed but I had no time to think about that.

"She didn't pick up." I answered.

"Okay. I'll let her know." I heard him talk to someone in the backround.

"I told the nurce that I needed to talk to Claire, she should be here soon."

"Thanks.. Well, could you tell her to call me when she comes." I said not wanting to talk to Alec for to long, it would probably get awkward, especially after the.. incident this morning..

I was just about to hang up when he stopped me.

"Ain.."

"H-m?" He sounded serious.

"I.. I'm sorry for this morning, I-.. I didn't mean to.."

"Hello~ Alec" I hears Clairs loud voice all the way from here.

"Hi Claire." I could almost hear see his glare at Claire for interrupting. I myself just felt relived that she stepped in just before it got wierd.

Alec sighted.

"Ain wants to talk to you" He said to Claire.

"Hi~ Miss me already?" Clare said.

"Yeah, sure.. Claire, I need to ask you something." I said.

I heard her close the door to Alec's room.

"What is it?" She spoke in a serious voice.

"I remembered something.. Something that Seiki might know about.. Should I talk to him? I mean.. it was kind of a.. sad memorie.." I waited for her reply.

"Hm.. Knowing Seiki he would probably get worried sick.. But you should probably talk to him if he has something to do with it." She said, choosing her words carefully.

"Okay, I'll do that.." I said.

"Good boy. Say hi from me and Alec. And Ain, if there's anything you want to talk about you can always call."

"I know, thank you Claire." I said and hung up.

Okay.. Let's call Seiki. I thought to myself as i dialed the number.

I was just about to press dial when a thought hit me.

What if this will change everything? What if he'll hate me for asking?

No! I need to get the answers! I pressed the button before I changed my mind.

"Hi Ain~" Seiki answered.

"H-Hi Seiki. I stuttered.

"What is it? Is something wrong?" As expected from Seiki. One stutter and he immediately knew something was wrong.

"Well.. Um.." I startet to regret calling.

"It's probably not so important, sorry for calling, you must be busy I'll go." I said panicking.

"Ain, Ain take it easy. It's okay. You can tell me and ask me anything." Seiki calmed me down and I took a deep breath before continuing.

"I remembered." I said.

"Remember what?" Seiki asked.

"I think it was about when we stopped meating.." I said carefully.

It went a couple of minutes before Seiki answered.

"Do you remember everything?" He asked. He sounded afraid.

"No.. I just remember running home crying after choosing something I didn't want to choose.. or something like that.." I said.

"I'm sorry Ain. He said. "If I'd never asked, we might still've been friends and you wouldn't have to go thru what you're going thru right now." He sounded sad.

"Seiki." I started "Can you tell me exactly what happened?"

I heard him sigh.

"Of course. You deserve to know. I wont judge you for hating me afterwards.."

And so he began telling another story from our past.
