I woke up in a cage. Waking up in strange places seems to be my specialty. The cage was made out of wood, but I could feel the magic around it. It seemed to be enchanted so I couldn't break out. But that didn't mean I couldn't get someone else to let me out. I spotted the lost boy that was keeping watch on the cage.
"Excuse me." I called out to him rattling the cage.
He looked up at me and frowned. "What do you want?"
"Can you please let me out? I know that it's your job to not let me out. But I have a little sister at home and my mum is very poorly. I need to take care of them." I put on my most convincing face. When I was ten I went to an acting camp, It certainly paid off.
He sighed. "I understand. But I'm not allowed to. Pan will punish me if I let you out, besides, there's no way off this bloody island."
"But I know a way off. I have magic and I can get us out of here." I could tell he was curious, which helped in my favor because I could see he wasn't completely loyal to Peter.
"So.... If I let you out, you could take both of us home?"
"Yes."
He looked around. When he saw that no-one was there he grabbed his knife and cut the rope that was anchoring me to the tree. He gently set my cage down and opened it for me. He helped me out of the cage and I smiled sadly. "I'm sorry."
He looked at me, obviously confused. "Why are you sorry?"
I lifted a stray branch from the forest floor and told him, "For this." Before I whacked him in the head and set him on the ground. "I'm really sorry." I whispered before running into the trees.
I wove in and out of the trees, trying to get as far away as possible from that wretched camp. My face was slapped by wet leaves; it always seemed to be damp in Neverland. I jumped over roots, ducked under branches, and ran through puddles. I saw a break in the treeline up ahead and expected to feel sand under my feet; instead, I felt nothing. I screamed and grabbed a ledge, saving myself from plummeting 300 feet into a river. (I also seem to be good at falling off high places.) I tried to pull myself up, but the rock was crumbling. My arms started to ache and pebbles fell onto my face, scraping me and making me bleed. I felt tears form in my eyes, but just as my fingers slipped off the ledge, a hand stuck out over the edge.
"Olivia-Grace, hurry, i'll pull you up!"
I recognized the voice, and I refused to grab his hand. "I am NOT letting you put me back in that cage!"
"I won't, but you have to believe me and let me help you." Pan's face peeked out and I almost, almost, believed him, that he cared about me. But then I remembered that he can not love or care about anyone, because he has no room in his heart for happiness.
"I'm sorry, but I can't." I said with tears trickling down my face.
I looked down into the river as the rock broke away and I tumbled down toward the river.
Pan's POV :)
I watched as Olivia fell down the cliffs and landed in the river. I scanned the water hoping she would come up,but she never did. I sat by the cliff for the rest of the day, staring at the water. I was aware that Felix was sitting beside me, but he never talked to me or tried to comfort me. That's how our friendship worked, we rarely spoke, unless I was telling him what to do. Hardly a friendship. I felt something wet in my eye and wiped my face to feel tears running down my face. I used my magic to teleport myself into my thinking tree. I looked in a puddle forming at the base of my tree and saw my reflection. I had streaks down my face and my eyes were puffy. What's wrong with me???
