I looked at all of the stuff on my bed, piled high so I'd have to deal with it sooner rather than later. I took a deep breath... Ok now I was ready to deal with this- * knock knock* Ah DANGIT! The breath left my lungs in a burst. "Come in!"
Sirius came in, looking at me sheepishly. "I came up to see how things were going...." He looked at the stuff piled high on my bed. "Was I early?"
"No... I'm just putting it off." I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Sirius... I don't know if I even want to go-"
"Of course you don't!" I looked at him, "Everyone you ever knew is gone now. You'll have all the settings of being back.... but you really won't be because no one will be with you-"
"Are you trying to make me feel better? Cuz I don't think it's workin'."
"The point is, you know you need to go. If anything so you can move on with your life. You have to graduate Lynn."
"I know but-"
"Hey, you can always write me, and there's Christmas and before you know it you'll be back!" He hugged me and sounded more like he was trying to convince himslef more than he was trying to convince me.
"You right." I sighed, trying to get up, only to be pulled back down.
"'Course I am!" He started tickling me and I sqeaked, "You'll be fine! ...."He let go of me and picked up a few things that had fallen off the bed. "Now, let's get started shall we?"
After an hour of packing- mostly Sirius was unpacking all the candy I'd stuffed in my dresser- Sirius asked "Lynn, How much candy do you have?" He'd hit the jackpot. It was my biggest stash.
I gave him a look and turned my satchel upside down- revealing a waterfall of things: clothes, candy, a radio, candy, food, shoes, candy, a torch, candy, more clothes, a bunch of candy, books, and candy. "Seriously?"
He just stared, his mouth open. "How many charms do you have on that bag?!"
"Not enough. That was only half my stash from home." HE blinked at me. I looked at the stash and then at the bag, "Wait!" I turned it upside down and a few more bags of chocolate and some clothes dropped out reluctantly. "Is that it?" I looked in there again, "Yeah, that's it." I confirmed. I looked at Padfoot. "What?"
He just kept this look on his face, eyebrow raised, his dark eyes completely focused on me, a smirk on his face- teasing. "You really-"
The door opened to reveal Remus. "Ly- Sirius? Where'd all the-"
'MINE!" I gathered it all up and shoved every last piece of candy into my satchel once more. "No touchy." I glared.
"Lynn, I'm over here- away from your choclate." He put his hands up iin surrender.
"Stay that way." I scooped up the last bit and sat on the bed, sighing. "Chocolate is timeless."
Sirius rolled his eyes. "Between you and Remus it's a wonder anyone has ever tasted chocolate." I smiled. When I knew them Remus liked chocolate, but not as much as me.It was nice to know I'd started something that lasted after I was gone.
"Awe, poor puppy! Here, have a piece." I tossed him a minibar. Both men stared at me. "What, I can't share once in a while?"
"Are you done packing?" I started to nod, but a sharp look from Sirius made me start shaking my head sheepishly. "Is that a yes or a no?" I looked at Sirius as I ate my chocolate and shook my head before looking away.
"Why Do I have to have so much stuff?! It's not like I'm going to be there- I'm still not sure I want to go." I stood up, frustrated.
"Lynn, we've talked about this-" Both men started.
"That's right- you've talked about it. I pointed a finger at both of them, just getting started. "I'm getting sick and tired of everyone talking about my life! I'm not a pet! I have a say in what happens to me! This is my life! Not YOURS! I went to say something else, but quite suddenly- I couldn't breathe.
It was like someone sucker punched me in the chest. I put a hand there as my vision swam. I fell to my knees as Sirius and Remus ran to me, calling my name.
I couldn't see the room before me anymore. Instead, I saw a veil, like cobwebs and smoke, dancing on a nonexistent wind, attatched to a stone arch. Spells were being flung by the many people in the room. A man and a younger boy were fighting back to back- the younger boys glasses glinted in what little light there was- through the chaos.
A red spell caught the man in the chest and I grabbed my chest, the same spot. My heart shattered as his eyes pierced mine. "NO!" Both I and the boy cried, reaching for him-
I woke up with a monstrous headache- but I jumped up before I could comprehend what a STUPID idea that was. The room spun once again and dark shadows loomed over me, dark and foreboading- just like in my dream- vision- thingy.
I gripped my head as though that wouldrelieve the agonizing pressure that just invaded my head and I cried out once more. "Woah Lynn, you're ok now, you're all right. You're safe.." A soothing voice reached me just as hands did.
I jumped away from him before I realised- this was Sirius. "Oh Sirius!" Relief flooded me- for just a moment I'd thought the worst. I hugged him fiercely. "It was so real. It was horrible!"
"You're alright now Lynnie. You're safe." He hugged me back just as hard- which was ok. I was frightened now. I don't know what happened, but I didn't like it.
I told no one of the dream. To everyone else I'd had a fit, and after a few days it was like it never happened and everything was ....back to normal. "Hurry up or we'll miss the train... AGAIN!" Ron called up the stairs to Harry, who ran down with Hedwig (his owl) and laughed.
"You missed the train?" I asked curiously.
"Second year." Ro's ears turned red and Harry beamed, remembering their adventure.
"Oh Right! You told me about that!" I smiled too and clapped him and Ron on the back. "...Didn't you?"
"Yeah." He grinned at me this time.
I jumped away when something-one- brushed up against me. "Awe! Snuffles! Aren't you a cute doggy!" I wollered him, scratching his ears and back as his tail just wagged away. "I missed you!" I babied.
"Lynn.... You do know that's Sirius....Right?" Ron asked.
"Of course I do! Who do you think named him?" I laughed. I got a ticklinsh spot and Sirius had to sit down and scratch. He would be going with us as Snuffles to the station- the only way he could get out of the house. "You really thought he came up with snuffles all on his own?" They looked sheepish and nodded, "I'll tell you the story behind it- oof!" I was knocked down. "On the train!" I gasped, trying to get my breath back.
"All right now- ready to go?" ONe of the many adults asked. "Lynn... Why are you on the floor?"
"I did not fall! " I looked up at Remus who gave me a 'yeah right' look. "I attacked the floor with my awesome ninja skills!" I got in a karate pose and Remus backed up- remembering the last time I did that. ...Now he knows I know karate. I smiled at him, picking up my satchel- which had everything in it.
