There were lots of people who entered this year’s Class Academic Exams. At least I got to register at the last second.
We all had gathered in the center of the valley, after a moment a group of people appeared in front of us.
“A mage and some knights”
“Everyone! Welcome to this year’s Class Academic Exams, This year we have at least 700examinees. For a moment we will be announcing the first exam, so you better get ready!” the one in the middle said.
“Well good luck in you exam, and become a knight. “ Hayate said to me.
“Yeah! Thanks! I’m sure after this exam, I will become a knight” I replied with confidence.
“I’m sure your father will be proud”
“Yeah, I hope I can see him after the exam”
“You’ll see him, uhm… well then, see you later! The exam is about to start”
“Okay later”
Then one for the examiner started talking.
“We are now starting the first stage of the exam, but first you must find yourself a partner before I explain any further.”
“W…What?!A partner?” I asked myself “I can I find a partner? I barely know anyone”
After the examiner gave us a sign to find a partner, I started looking around.
Then a guy with purple eyes and spiky gray hair came near me.
“Hey! It seems that you’re alone. Why don’t we become partners?” he asked me.
“Oh! Yeah! Sure! I’ll be your partner” I replied.
Perhaps I don’t need to find a partner, because someone found me as his partner.
“So, My” name is Ace, What’s yours?”
“My name is Gray” he answered.
After Gray and I introduced ourselves, the examiner started to explain the rules.
“Having a partner is one of the most important aspects of being in the military, now the first stage of your Academic Exams is that you will go to Junon Kingdom without any form of transportation. This part of the test will test your ability on finishing your missions and request on the given time, team work is the key to complete this test. The only thing stopping you in this test will be the monsters living in the forest, so make sure. Don’t die! You have 36 hours on completing this test.”
Finishing this test is the start of my journey on becoming a knight; I have to complete this test.
“We will see you on Junon, Good Luck! Your time starts now!”
“Hey before we go we need to get something” Gray said to me.
“Sure!” I replied.
We had gone to a nearby shop to not waste any time.
“What can I do for you?” the merchant asked us.
“Do you have a map?” Gray asked.
“Of course” The merchant took a map from a shelf. “That will be 100 Ren”
“Ok” said Gray. “Hey Ace, do you have 100 Ren?” he asked me.
“What?! You don’t have any money?!” I replied
“I don’t have a change, and we have to buy some supplies and plan our strategy on how we can get to Junon, and this map will help us to get there” he replied to me.
