Three o’clock in the morning, it’s me and Raven’s turn again to guard. I was sitting on the log, Raven was still sleeping inside the tent, I didn’t bother to wake her up for she looked like she’s having a good dream.
The moons we’re bright, I could feel the cold wind through my body, and the fog was thick but it doesn’t bother me, the Mankey from earlier was still here and sleeping quietly near the camp fire.
I was looking at the fire, and then Gray came out of the tent wiping his eyes, he looked like something was bothering him.
“Morning!”
He yawned after saying that, I didn’t react because I was still sleepy.
“Hey! Earth to Ace! c’mon!”
Gray suddenly pinched my shoulder that woke me up.
“Oh! Gray! What’s up?”
I asked him quietly.
“I came here because I thought you might be lonely”
He answered my question immediately; I looked at the fire and told him:
“I’m fine; I used to be alone any ways”
Gray’s expression suddenly changed, his face looked surprise and sad at the same time.
“What’s with the face?”
I asked him. Then he looked at the clear sky.
“Why are you used on being alone?”
Gray asked me, I guess he got curious about why I’m used to be lonely, then, I immediately answered:
“Well because my mother died after I was born and then my Father always goes to Luna, Hayate, my uncle, always has a mission to go to, he always come back after a few days, but I couldn’t blame him. I was always left alone at home; no one to talk to.”
Tears in my eyes came out and I immediately wiped them, but Gray saw me.
“You’re not the only one pal”
The way he said that had lightened my heart.
“My parents died 5 years ago, they we’re killed by a monster; and my little sister Lyla doesn’t know it. That is the reason why when I see a monster, I go berserk and try to kill it immediately. Luckily Lyla is always there with me.”
“They were killed?”
I suddenly feel bad for them, because I know that my Father is still a live, at the same time being glad for him because he have Lyla at his side.
“The monster which killed my parents was the monster that you said that you saw earlier.”
“What?! H-how did you know that was the monster that killed your parents?”
“I saw it in my own eyes; it was the one who killed my parents”
Grays expression changed again, and then I looked at his eyes. His eyes looked like he wanted revenge.
“…”
I couldn’t speak for I feel sorry for him. Then he said:
“Please don’t tell Lyla what I said to you”
Our conversation was interrupted when Raven came out of the tent.
“…”
Her face still looks sleepy, and looking at her face made me blush.
“S-so cute!”
I said to myself, and then Shara came out of the tent as well also looks sleepy. Looking at them made my heart race.
