I wake up to a birds nest hair and the smell of cooking. I open my eyes and see Kian's closed directly in front of me. I can smell his rainforest smell and his face is scraped with dirt. I smile to myself. Ebony and Jozef and the Grandma are all asleep in the corner of the one roomed house. I get up and follow the smell of food to outside the house where a huge campfire is going and about 10 people are huddled around eating hot food from the fire. There are a few sad looking kids and depressed looking mothers. They all look at me in disgust as i make my way to the closest bush to pee (possibly the grossest thing I have ever done is my life) as I make my way back a middle aged woman spits "go home you greedy, stuck up Americans, we don't want you here. Here we are losing all our husbands and food and asking for aid from America and all you care about is spending your money on stupid hamburgers" "ouch" I say sarcastically and wipe her spit out of my face. These people seriously need to learn the definition of hygiene.
"Beth" a familiar voice calls. Its Kian. "Yo" I say. "Yo?" he says sounding confused. "Oh right you don't speak slang" i say rolling my eyes "its means like hi" I tell him. "Oh Yo hahah" he retorts. I laugh and ask him when breakfast is. He speaks in a weird language to his Mum and she looks at me and says "it will be ready soon" she sounds very annoyed. She then starts gossiping with other women and I swear I hear the words Beth and Bloody Americanos. I then get mad and lose the plot. "Seriously guys shut up I have ears you know, do you think I want to be here if it was up to me I would be on my pool lounge right now drinking a fruit punch and listening to Hanah and my boyfriends Jays apologies and begging for my forgiveness but no I am stuck here with you stuck up vomit eating freaks" And with that I leave with Ebony in tow. Once we are ages into the wood Ebony tugs my sleeve and looks up at me with big brown eyes "I want my Mummy and Dadda" she says sadly. We will get back home I say kissing her forehead. "Promise?" she asks "Promise" I reply, although it may not be a promise I can keep!
