I got up from my bed and I walked across the hall. I quietly opened the door taking it more slowly when the door began to creek. I walked over to the bed gently kneeling down behind her then I laid down.

She turned around to face me but I shook my head at her giving her the look 'I just want you to lay in my arms tonight'. Indiana hooked her leg on my waist pulling herself closer to me.

Instead of being quiet Indiana asked, "why did you come in here?"

I ran my thumb over her cheek whispering ever so quietly being careful not to bring attention to my presence in her room "at the beginning of the week when you were talking to your father...you know that can't happen you need to marry royalty? I would marry you or be with you if I could princess but your world doesn't work like that."

Indiana nodded her head "I know that but I want to be with you Dallas. When I marry this the duke I can't have you in my bed anymore. I am expected to remain faithful to him and those are the vowels I have to take to my husband.  I don't want to have to lose my virginity to him but I have to and I don't want to spend the rest of my life with him I love you."

I quickly kissed Indiana to keep her quiet I know soon enough she was going to wake her parents up and I didn't want that because we would both get in so much trouble. Once she was settled enough I replied "I love you as well my little princess and I will do what I need to just to be around you. Why do you think I took this job just to watch you marry another man? No, I took this job so I can spend time when the woman I love but at some point soon you will get married and then I will find love and also get married."

I pulled Indiana into my arms because tears began to get heavy on her cheeks. I slowly kissed away a few tears, Indiana joked "we can still run away together, me and you against the kingdom?"

At least I hope she was joking, just to set her straight I laughed "no princess you are to do what you were born to do. Regardless of everything princess, I am so proud of you and everything you have accomplished."

When I woke up the next morning I woke in my bed alone. After cuddling with Indiana until she fell asleep I snuck back into my room. As I was headed to the kitchen that morning the queen pulled me aside. I was surprised to be talking with her most my dealing so far have been with the King.

The queen took my hand gently squeezing it she asked "do you love my daughter as much as she loves you?"

Tears began to well up in my eyes I slowly nodded answering "yes your majesty I love Indiana so much. I am so sorry I know I was meant to be doing my job but she became so much more."

Now my tears silently began running down my cheeks. The queen quietly said "I never approved of this arranged marriage it was my husbands' wishes. I won't stop her marriage to the duke but I won't stop you from being with her as well. Just please don't sneak into her room anymore."

I blushed a deep red at her comment mumbling "yes your majesty."

I then rushed into the dining room where everyone was having breakfast. Today was the day that the duke arrives at the palace for the wedding. I was so worried about her I could see she as beginning to stress. Indiana was barely eating and although she slept last night she also had large black bags under her eyes.

Once the meal was over the princess excused her self and I followed after her giving a bow to the Royals. I pulled her into an empty room and said "I want to marry you, Indiana!"

Indiana shook her head "haven't you said that enough times yet that it is impossible?"

I shook my head with the biggest smile taking over my face "your mum isn't going to stop the arranged marriage but she isn't going to stop me either."

Indiana smiled at me joyfully "okay then my prince in tin foil what are we going to do?"

I smirked at her getting down on one knee, I pulled the ring out of my shirt pocket "my beautiful princess would you do me the honour of spending the rest of your life with me?"

Indiana quickly nodded "yes of course."

I slipped the ring up her finger placing my lips on hers kissing her slowly and passionately. I laughed "no we have to deal with an arranged marriage and your father."

When the duke finally showed up at the palace everyone lined up outside to greet him. I, of course, stood next to Indiana to protect her from danger more
like unwanted little dukes that aren't wanted.

Indiana's parents both hugged him but Indiana refused any interaction. Before long the royals, Indiana and I were in the book room to discuss the marriage.

Indiana was the first to speak "I don't want to marry you I am sorry Henry."

Henry gently smiled at her but her father was the opposite. He took a threatening step forwards her yelling "you do what is asked of you Indiana and you are to marry Henry."

Indiana shook her head looking over to her mother, she gently smiled at her mum saying clearly "I will be getting married just not to any duke dad because I am already engaged."

Her mother gasped in excitement but her father was now huffing, he yelled "I guess you will be returning the ring, Indiana, because Henry's ring now needs to go on your finger."

Indiana held her hand up "I'm am sorry father I can't do that I love him and if I am not refused for the throne then so be it because I am marrying him."

Her mum was quick to wrap her arms around her whispering praising things in her eyes giving me a little wink. Instead, the father turns to me yelling "you were hired to guard my daughter instead you let some unknown guy propose I want you gone!"

I slowly nodded my head "as you wish sir but I should put my input in right?" The King turned to face me waiting to hear what I had to say "he may not have many things to offer but everything he does offer would be anything he could afford and more. You seriously don't understand anything she has gone through. Indiana is so brave and amazing you don't even know half of it. Indiana isn't just some spoiled princess but she is genuine and honest and beautiful. Mistakes were made between us but she was never one of them your majesty."

I then took a few steps to Indiana wrapping an arm around her waist placing a kiss on her temple. Indiana interrupted before her father could talk "I love Dallas and he loves me. Recently he proposed and I said yes. I know you don't understand daddy but he is the one for me. We can get him trained to be a king and hold off on the wedding until the date when mine and Henry's was meant to commence."

The queen interrupter the King from talking this time "okay you two give us and Henry some time to talk."

Indiana and I quickly rushed out of the door and into her bedroom where we just laid in each other's arms awaiting the royals choice.
