Laurance's POV
It's sunset and I'm starting to get worried. I've asked around and everyone says they haven't seen Aphmau, or the newcomers for that matter. I think they have something to do with this. No, bad Laurance, find Aphmau first, kill newbies second.
I jog over to Aphmau's big purple house on the hill and knock on the door. Zoey answers, her face seemingly pressed into a worried frown. "Have you seem Aphmau?" I ask her and her frown deepens. "No, I saw her go to bed last night, but she never went out to do her daily rounds." She explains and my eyes widen.
"Let me go talk with her, ok?" I tell her and walk in the house, pounding up the stairs. I knock on the door quietly so it doesn't startle her and call for her. No answer. I knock louder and call again. Still nothing. "Open up or I swear I will kick this door down." I say, followed by a, you guessed it, nothing.
I step back a few paces and take a running start. I bound into the door and break it off it's hinges. I look up, ignoring a surprised Zoey, and see my greatest fear. She isn't there. A note is on the bed so I grab it and read it aloud.
-Insert letter from last chapter, brought to you by a lazy author-
"She left..." I whisper, a stray tear running down my cheek. I hear Zoey's faint but somewhat controlled sobbing in the corner as I turn. "I might as well..." I say and run to the plaza, calling for a town meeting as I go.
Once everyone was gathered I start. "As you all probably know, Aphmau was not seen doing her daily rounds or doing anything in the village. I went to ask what is wrong when I was forced to bust her door down. She wasn't there. but there was a note left on her bed. It reads-
- and I have now followed her wishes. I want to know what everyone thinks we should do about her disappearance."
An uproar by the citizens hits me like a truck. It was full of 'Aphmau would never do that- and -She can't just LEAVE-'s until one statement finally stands out. "THE NEWCOMERS!!" Logan shouts, gaining everyone's attention. "I went to their guest house to find it deserted with all their belongings gone. It can't just be a coincidence this happens the day our Lord abandons us. Maybe they forced her to do it! Maybe they threatened the village she was sworn to protect!"
Everyone jumps to agree, but turns to me. "W-Well..." How, oh HOW does Aphmau do this, "It is possible this has happened, so we will search for them, but, I repeat, BUT our intention are not malicious until we know they are guilty." Most grumble, but some have a look of relief on their faces.
"Don't worry Aphmau." I whisper into the wind, wishing with all my might that it were true,
We're coming for you."
A/N Sorry that this came a little late but I had track practice and got home at 5:30. I'm not sure on how to introduce Aphmau's friends, (The new characters) So please help me out with that. Until next time!
