Chapter 2

Earth to Ariah!!! I jolted out of my thoughts and turned around surprised to see my best friend Delilah but i just call her Dee looking at me with a funny face. I rolled my eyes at her as she told me to stop daydreaming about Ashton with a smirk on her face. Not every daydream is about Ashton you know and I was thinking, not daydreaming there is a big difference," I said laughing at her surprised expression. So I saw you two talking near the Library today Ari, what was Ashton saying that made you go so deep in thought that it looked like you were daydreaming she said full on laughing, I let out a small chuckle when I saw some collage guys passing by, give Dee a weird expression, she's my childhood best friend and we know everything about each other all the secrets and the crushes on boys thus her knowing about my small crush on Ashton and she even knows about my dreams.

I sighed and moved to sit on one of the park benches. When we got settled I told her that Ashton got a new expedition lined up and his been asked to pick out his research assistant and other members,  and before you ask its in Romania, I said shakily. Dee gave me worried look and said, you'll be going isn't it. I nodded and said plus you, she suddenly paled, I can't blame her I bet I had the same look about me when Ashton told me all of this. She looked at me with pain filled in her eyes reflecting mine.  Ari I can't go there it's too painful, both our parents were murdered and mutilated to no extent of recognition and you know she said she would be coming for us right, how can we go back!! I told her that its OK last we checked she's behind bars and won't be able to ever harm us and our parents got their justice, plus we have been provided bodyguards by the government as there have some recent unrest in the region of our expedition. She had calmed down a little but you can still see the pain in her eyes so Ashton wanted you to convince me to go on this expedition and I nodded. She looked at me and said Ari I need some time to process all this then can I give you my answer and I nodded and told her to tell me her decision at the end of this week.

As she walked away my thoughts drifted to our parents. You might be thinking if my parents were murdered together with hers then how can I not be as traumatized as Dee and how can I accept to be a part of the expedition without any hesitation, well all I can say is when my parents and hers were murdered I was not with them but Dee was, she was the one who recognized that woman who destroyed our families, Dee was the one that had to hide under a hedge while watching her parents and aunt and uncle were murdered, that's right Dee is my cousin and my best friend in the whole world, but I regard her more as my own sister. But I still wanted to go I actually wanted answers to why they all were murdered, it was never explained as to why that woman did what she did and I had a feeling I would find my answers back in Romania.
