So one thing I've noticed in a lot of fantasy/paranormal/adventure books is the overly used "Hey I'm here to save you and the rest of the world because only I can." cliché. I literally have no words for how much I despise this plot. I just seriously can't wrap my head around the appeal to them. And of course, this character is an ordinary Plain Jane, who has no special qualities about them, until WOW! They discover that are destined to save the world from some horrible fate! They also generally take this news pretty well, which is shocking, because if I was told that, I'd immediately deny it and I wouldn't believe it.
