Why do people think it's such a great idea to write about a demon that's in love with a human? Not only is this extremely unrealistic (even for a fantasy/paranormal book), but it's also just a bad idea. I don't know why some people assume that demons would fall head-over-heels in love with a human, because most of the time that demon would only want your soul, not your heart. Besides that fact, they also probably don't want to make that horrible decision because there's no benefit. Yes, I know that the (only) possible benefit of that relationship would be their "love and complete devotion" towards each other, but seriously, us humans are extremely weak compared to them, and pretty stupid sometimes. I highly doubt any demon/paranormal entity would want us for a mate.
