Some would say
My step dad is a thief
Not because he stole an object
No
Because he stole my moms heart
It truly is romantic
When out that way
But to there dismay
That's not what I think
Nor feel about the situation
I feel like he's a thief
Because he stole my mother away
Away from me that is
She's still at the house
Breathing
Eating
But like a stolen object it seems
As if she isn't even there
She does not talk anymore
The only time she's not stolen
Is when he is home
He's returned her
For now that is
Then he leaves again
But not with her body
But her soul
Her heart
And
The love that she once had
The love for me
The love for her family
The love I need
to grow
The love I need
To not feel alone in the world
She sees things in black and white
Always has always will
But the colors seem to darken
When he's not home
And he's the only one
That can make her
Laugh
Smile
Love
Hug
Joke
Play
She hasn't said the words I long for
The three words
That mad my heart jump
When I was a wee little girl
The three words
That set a relationship
In stone
She hasn't uttered those words
Not to me
But to him
Only him
She's left me alone
She was stolen away
I'm forever alone
No Place to go
But to run
And run
To get away
Maybe if I die she'll notice
No
Never mind
She wouldn't notice if I were gone
Not until it was too late
Not till she got the call
Not till I was buried
Six feet under
Would she realize that I'm the one
She should have said
" I love you"
Before it was too late .
