Depression

The thing that makes you not want to get up in the morning
Makes you hurt yourself
Wanting to drown the feeling with something that's not any better than the dull sadness inside
A thing that never truly leaves you
Not when your little, and not when you grow old  I'm sure if it could, it would follow you in death
Now the question is...
Why are you letting it control you?
That's what people ask me all the time
"Why do you let it control you, it's all in your head"
Yeah it's in my head, but that's why I can't control it
My mind is rotting with this disease
And it's called depression
You can't control it
And some people don't want to
Because when they try it hurts
And when it hurts, they give up
Maybe that's how I am
Maybe I've given up
But that's my choice not yours
I'm sure you'd understand
If it was contagious
But only in extreme cases does it ever get passed around
And when it does....
It hits hard
So start the awareness of the disease that this society calls depression
So more people understand
