It was raining and Carmen just sat there as she looked at something that would resemble a demon. The only thing that came out of her mouth was the demons name

"Jack?"

Jack came closer to her, his right arm big and muscular, big black bat wings on his back, his katana blade no longer a katana but a big sword stained with demons blood.

Carmen couldn't believe her eyes she could only stare. Jack folded his wings and walked towards her

"Carmen I know what you're thinking just stay calm"

"Y - you s - stay away from me"

by instinct she grabbed her gun and started shooting at him. Jack simply blocked the bullets with his sword. Carmen kept on shooting until she ran out of bullets

"no stay away from me"

she quickly stood up and ran away. Jack simply watched her as she disappeared from his view

"Carmen"

he said even though he knew she would never hear him.

Carmen just kept on running thinking that if she stopped she would get killed. Maybe it was because of the adrenalin or maybe it was because they didn't travel that far to begin with but she got back to her house quickly and as she got in she quickly locked the door, the windows, she locked everything that could be locked or closed.

After that she took a silver cross and a small bottle of holy water that she always had and held them both tight thinking

he's a demon, demons can't hurt me as long as I have my cross and holy water, demons are weak when near holy objects it's okay I'm safe.

But when she was thinking that she heard the sound of giant wings flapping. She knew who it was and she heard it land in front of her door.

"Carmen, Carmen let me talk to you open the door"

she could hear him from the other side of the door.

"So what, you can kill me? I'm not that stupid"

"If I wanted to kill you I won't be knocking on the door I would be breaking it by now"

"What if this just some trick to fool me? I'm sorry but I don't fool that easy"

"Look Carmen I'm not gonna hurt you just open the door please"

Maybe it was because she couldn't take it anymore or maybe it was the fact that he said please but after a couple of seconds she opened the door slowly.

What Carmen saw was Jack looking like he usually does not like the demon she saw earlier.

"Look Carmen about wha---- AHHHHH  MY EYES!!!!!"

Before Jack could even finish Carmen quickly splashed holy water on his eyes and it looked like it worked. Carmen knew that demons were weak against holy object or places.

"Why would you even do that? Shoot I think I'm blind"

said Jack as he was covering his eyes clearly in pain.

"If you ever go near me again you know what I can do to you.............. you demon"

even though he was in pain Jack was still shocked. Her calling him that was enough to inflict even greater pain than he was feeling now.

Carmen then quickly shut her door and locked it. She went upstairs to her room and from her window she could see Jack still in pain. Carmen then thought

don't feel bad for him he deserves it. He's a demon even though you knew him  for such a long time you know that he deserves this.

While she was trying to convince herself she watched as Jack spreads his demon wings and just flew away. As she watched she then finally realized what truly just happened.

She lost him. She lost the only person who was actually kind to her. When Carmen first transferred to his school she found it hard to blend in and to make friends. Some thought she was weird because she would act like a boy sometimes.

There was only one who approached her with a smile. A warm and welcoming smile. A smile that belonged to who she would soon call "Jack" the person who welcomed her with open arms. Someone who she depended on from time to time. A person who didn't care how she acted. Someone who didn't act like a demon at all. In fact to her he was an angel. And now there was one thing that she had to do. A mission. A duty.

"He's a demon. Now I know why I  was sent here. Now I know what I have to do. This is the reason why I was sent here"

as she looked out the window once more no longer able to see Jack. Tears started to flow from her eyes

"why? Just why?.............. why did it have to be you? Why Jack? Why?"

Those were the only things she could say as tears kept on falling from her eyes nonstop.
