Chapter 12 - The elite

Right now Jack couldn't believe his eyes. Because right now he was seeing Carmen his closest and only friend floating in the air wearing golden armor with red accents with pure white wings and enveloped in golden aura.

"I am Carmen the elite angel of light"

she then pointed her sword at him

"now demon face me and perish"

with one flap of her wings she quickly dashed towards Jack with godlike speed. Jack somehow managed to dodge the attack but with his left arm already injured and bleeding he was clearly in the disadvantage.

He quickly looked at his katana that was still in its place on the wall.

If I don't get armed quick I'm gonna die

but his thoughts were quickly disturbed by the fact of Carmen dashing towards him once again. Through instinct he was able to dodge and was now closer to his sword.

He used his speed to quickly get to the wall and take his katana and just in time to because Carmen dashed again but this time instead of dodging he was now able to block her attack.

As their blades clashed sparks flew and Carmen took a few steps back but to be more specific she flew backwards to put some distance between them.

"I say you're good. Being able to dodge and block almost all my attacks"

Carmen then smirked

"almost. I can see I was able to injure your arm. You're lucky I'm using the sword you gave me if I were using my real sword then that cut would mean the death of you"

Carmens sword wasn't just any regular sword. Her sword was imbued with the elemental power of light which is very lethal to demons.

Right now she was using the sword Jack gave her and it was just a regular sword but for some reason she felt like there was something more to it than just a regular sword. It was like she didn't choose it. It chose her.

Already out of options Jack only had one thing left up his sleeve but he was hesitating to use it or not. As Carmen went on the attack Jack didn't do anything but block or dodge each and every single of her attacks. He jumped back to put some distance between them

"stop this Carmen I don't want to hurt you, you're my friend"

"Ha like you can even hurt me. Don't worry though I'll show mercy and give you a quick and painless death. Now DIE!!!"

As she said that she concentrated and made a ball of light in her hand. She then threw it at his direction. An attack like that would kill a demon instantly if they got his by it.

But Jack used his blade to cut the ball in two making the ball explode. As smoke covered the whole room Jack could think of one thing to do to survive.

"Demonic possession: demons arm"

as he said that his right arm started to change its form. It started to grow and change its color. Claws started to grow from his finger tips and looked like an arm that would belong to a demon.

"Demonic possession: demons blade"

when he said that his katana was getting enveloped by aura and it also started to change. The blade grew in size and morphed into a huge single edge sword.

Dark aura started to cover Jacks arm and his blade. This was the form Carmen saw last night only without the wings. As the smoke cleared Carmen saw Jack now using his power

"so finally showing your true colors eh?"

"Look Carmen I don't want to hurt you. Please let's just talk about this"

he said trying to convince her he doesn't mean any harm.

"Like I said before. Don't think you can hurt me because you cant. There's a reason why I'm called an elite. Give up now and I'll make your death painless"

she said as she finally landed on the ground. She knew that Jack had skill in combat. But if she could just wound him with her light then it would be all over. Just one scratch and it would be enough.

Using her powers she once again made a ball of light in her hand. But this time when she threw it the ball separated into five parts.

Jack gathered aura on his sword and focused. With one slash a wave of power came out of his sword and easily eliminated all five balls of light but before it could get to Carmen it disappeared.

Carmen was shocked to see such power. Not one demon could even stand against a single one of her attacks let alone cancel it. She knew he wasn't any regular demon. He had power enough to take down another demon with such ease. Even now he was only using his right arm for fighting. If he were to transform into his full demon form who knows how strong he can be.

Carmen didn't have time to waste if she would drag the battle any longer then he might do a full transformation. She had to end it now.

She quickly dashed towards him and kept on slashing her sword at him. But Jack either blocked or dodged every single of her attacks.

Carmen couldn't believe it. He could actually fight in par against her which Noone can do not even the other angels. She was supposed to be an elite and yet here she is struggling to even hit him.

Jack showed no signs of fighting back he only tried to avoid her attacks as much as possible

"C'mon Carmen just give up I don't want to hurt you"

"Shut up!!!!"

She said now getting mad as she kept on attacking more aggressive than before.

"I'm an elite................ I'm supposed to be the strongest.................. Don't you dare look down on me"

she said as she kept on attacking, she clearly lost her cool. She jumped back and focused a huge amount of aura into her hands

"let's see if you can take this"

she made a huge ball of light and launched it towards Jack. Not even an angel could cancel that and it was too big to dodge. She smirked knowing she finally had him but she was wrong.

As the ball of light went towards Jack he quickly focused a huge amount of aura into his sword and blocked her attack causing smoke to once again cover the room.

Carmen quickly got rid of the smoke using her powers and saw Jack kneeling on the ground with  his sword away from him. Carmen saw an opening.

She wasn't able to take him down with her last attack but she was able to weaken him. This was enough she used the chance and threw numerous balls of light towards him but for some reason they all went in different directions when they were about to hit Jack.

Carmen thought her aim was just off but when she fired another ball at him she was shocked beyond compare. She wasn't missing him but instead he was making the balls miss him.

With just the sway of his hand the balls of light she would throw at him would change direction. It was almost like he was controlling them but that was impossible no demon can control light only an angel can.

Carmen then noticed that the sword she was holding started to glow. But before she could even react Carmen started to feel dizzy.
She used too much of her power that it drained her energy. As she fell on the floor she could see Jack standing up and walking towards her.

"Stay away from me............y-you d-demon"

those were the last words she said before passing out.
