Chapter Four: Nothing's Fine, I'm Torn

"I got the eye of the tiger, the fire, dancin' through the fire, cuz I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roooo-a-a-aar"

Morning already?

Rubbing my sleep crusted eyes, I fumbled for my phone and silenced my alarm and checked the time. It was 7:15, and my bus came at 7:45. Plenty of time to pick out the perfect outfit.

After persuading myself to get out of bed, I padded over to my dresser and yanked open the drawer. I threw a blue and grey argile sweater vest and a blue button up onto my bed, along with a pair of slacks.

My room was way too quiet, so I skipped over to my radio and turned it one. The channel was the same one I always kept on- BBC Radio 1 (with Jameela Jamil) (A/N: It plays on the radio in the US on Sundays OMG TODAY'S SUNDAY -fangirl attack- ok the end bye :/ I'm done, 3000% done).

"Good morning UK! And here is your number one song of the week-- Little Mix, with Wings!"

Um, hold the fangirl up.

I shoved my fist in my mouth, it was all I could do to hold in my high-pitched, fan(boy) scream (A/N: Fanboy is a thing I'm making it so).

Whilst skipping and dancing around my room, I managed to put on my clothes and fix my hair, and by fix, I mean run my fingers through. By the time I was finished, the song was on its last verse. Poop.

I trudged down the hall to the washroom and combed my hair up in the front. No gel for me today. I also brushed my teeth and wiped my glasses clean.

"Marcel! Bus!" Mum yelled from downstairs, and I stuck my head out into the hall to respond.

"Coming!"

Lunch time. Again. Hopefully, things'll go a lot smoother than yesterday.

Lux and I decided to eat our lunch outside in the courtyard, where there were only a few people scattered across the green. I plopped down next to her on the fresh-cut grass, and leaned against a tree. Zipping open my lunch bag, I pulled out my Starbucks Frappeccino (A/N: I can't spell that, and it's the one you buy in a bottle) and took a sip. Lux was busy munching on a salad (she'd been awfully quiet all day), so I kept to myself and began to eat a sandwich.

Laughter echoed from the other end of the green, and I paused from my PB&J to glance up. Georgia and her friends were making their way over to Lux and mine's area of the courtyard, casually arm and arm and laughing. They looked like models straight from a magazine, with their hair and makeup perfect, dressed from bow to toe in adorable outfits. I think I saw Lux roll her eyes out of the corner of my vision.

Eventually, Georgia reached us, and her friends wandered over to a different area and sat on a bench, talking amongst one another. Georgia dropped her Vera Bradley bag, lunchbox, and notebooks down on the grass and plopped down, directly in front of me and Lux. Casually, she unzipped her lunchbag and pulled out a bag of baby carrot sticks, and began munching on them. No one talked, in fact, Lux and I had actually stopped eating and were just watching her.

"Um, what are you doing here?" Lux said with a coldish tone, breaking the awkward silence. Georgia looked confused and a bit hurt.

"Is there some rule where I can't sit with you guys?" Georgia shot back with a little sass. Lux's lower eyelid twitched.

"No, but people like you don't typically sit with people like us," Lux snapped, making a gesture at me. I widened my eyes and looked at Georgia, giving her a look, trying to tell her I didn't feel that way without using words. Because unfortunatly, my face was stuffed with mushy sandwich.

"Fine," Georgia hissed, and hurriedly picked up her things and shoved them into her arms. Lux watched with a squinted glare as Georgia stood up and backed away. Before she turned to leave, Georgia looked at me with pure disgust and stomped off towards her friends, who were now watching us with pointed glares.

I turned to Lux, anger boiling inside me.

"What was that for??" I whisper shouted.

"Trust me, Marcel, you don't want to get involved with her," Lux whispered back, whilst throwing glares back at Georgia.

"You could have told me this in private, and at least acted kind when she came over here. I don't know what she's done to you, but I feel she's a genuinly sweet girl. So don't tell me who I can and can't be friends with," I was almost yelling by the time I finished my little speech. Throwing my food into my lunchbag, I hopped up and stomped back across the green.

"Marcel, wait!" Lux called after me, but I wasn't listening. I just kept walking until I reached the heavy metal doors of the school. I pulled them open and let them slam forcefully behind me.

A/N:

Hello :)

Thank you all for the awesome feedback on my story! It means so much!

Sorry this chapter was so short, I just wanted to update, and it's mostly just a filler. Much more is to come, and quite a few twists and turns too.

A few One Direction news/notes/things:

They have a new album coming out November 25th, called Midnight Memories. I'm so excited and proud of my boys and all they've accomplished :)

Who went to see This Is Us? I saw it the day it came out, and it's absolutly AMAZING! I could watch it over and over again :)

Get their new book, Where We Are: Our Band, Our Story . It's so good, and has beautiful pictures and art from the fans.

That's all :) have a wonderful day

McKenzie
