"Babe, hurry up," Fronz groaned, leaning on the door-frame that separated the bathroom and our bedroom. I took a second to roll my eyes before continuing to do my mascara. He shook his head, "You’ve been doing your makeup for an hour."

"It’s been fifteen minutes," I chuckled, screwing the brush back into the slender little bottle and tossing it back into my bag. "Let’s go."

Just as I had planned, we got to the mall to shop, and still had plenty of time until the movie we wanted to see started.

After picking up some new clothes, a watch for him, and some new Vans for me, we bought our tickets and walked inside, hand-in-hand. As we stood in line to get some snacks, a girl came up to Fronz with a bounce in her step. She spoke quickly with excitement, “Oh my god, can I please please please get a picture with you?”

He looked to me (knowing his was supposed to be our date night), then back to her, shrugging, “Sure.”

I didn’t mind, and trying to be helpful, I offered to take the picture for them. The quicker this went, the sooner we could get our night together into motion. the girl immediately looked at me in disgust. “Who are you?”

"I’m his girlfriend," I said innocently, wondering why she her happiness had slipped away so quickly. "Do you want me to take the picture or—"

"No I don’t want you to take our picture!" She practically screeched. "What I want you to do is drop off the planet!"

"What, I—" Was all I managed out before she began screaming again.

"I’m so much prettier than you, why does he even like you? He could do so much better." Then she looked to Fronz. "I love you so much more than anyone else ever could, Chris. How about you just dump her right now and see a movie with me instead?"

I looked around in embarrassment and shock to find that everyone was staring. I heard Fronz grunt out, “The only picture I’ll be taking tonight is a mug shot if you don’t get away from us right now.”

Because she was a girl, I knew Fronz wold never hit her, but it his face was red and his hands were curled into fists. The girl stepped away slowly, looking as if she had more to say. Nobody in the lobby moved, so Fronz grabbed my hand and pulled me up to the front of the line.

"We’re gonna get a large pepsi and a medium popcorn," He said matter-of-factly.

Saying nothing, the cashier got what we asked for and handed it over, nodded, “Enjoy your movie.”

Fronz gave one last smirk to the girl, who was now standing with tears in her eyes and her arms crossed. As we got closer to the theater, Fronz pulled me under his arm. “And so date night begins.”

I looked up at him, “Do you think she’s prettier than me?”

He chuckled and kissed the top of my head, “Nobody is prettier than you.”
