I woke up to the sun in my eyes. Groaning I rolled over on my side and looked around my room at all of my bags that still need to be unpacked. There was a dresser in the corner along with a huge walk-in closet, a desk on one wall and a door to a bathroom on another. I slowly got out of bed and stretched out looking in my mirror I plugged in my straighter as I glared at my hair in the mirror it was a mess. Always is after I take a shower and don't brush it out.

I went and opened the curtains the rest of the way. Allowing the sunlight to really shine through. My bare feet felt cold on the hardwood floor wiggling my toes to get some feeling in them I went and dug out a pair of socks from my bag and slipped them on. Sitting back down on the edge of the bed I gazed out the window. My bedroom was on the second level and at the back of the house so my window over looked the farmyard below. There was another barn out back that was brown from the wood and not painted like the one in the front. It looked like it held horses from what I could see.

I noticed Tate and Cody out throwing hay to things in the barn. I sighed leaning back against my bed and wrapping the blankets around me tightly. Yesterday was so exhausting. But it was great. I hadn't had that much fun in a while.

I decide I better call my mom since I don't want her to worry about me disappointing her. I grabbed my phone that sat on the bedside table that was also in the room with a brown lamp. Checking the time to see it was 8:51. Hopefully she wasn't in a meeting. I thought as I listened to the phone ring.

"Emma." She said happily. "How was the plane ride? The drive? How's Tate?"

That last question surprised me but I knew she couldn't be cold hearted she still cared for Tate.

"Plane ride was fine, I slept through most of it. The drive was funny I meet Cody Clarke who's parents own the ranch. Everyone here is super nice and it's actually really amazing here. Tate is fine super happy here actually I've never seen him so happy. Yesterday we went swing dance. Oh my gosh mom I didn't know how much fun it could be dancing like that. Anyway I got him to dance with his crush Courtney and man you should have seen them they where so cute I was just like ah you guys should kiss already."

I took in a few small breaths catching up at my small rant. I frowned at my mothers quietness.

"Mom?" I asked checking to make sure I didn't accidentally end the call with my cheek. I didn't.

"It's just you sound like me when I was younger. You know when I went to Paris I thought it was amazing. Everything I could ever hope for. Then I met your father."

Of course by this time she already had Navy and Tate who my moms closes friend Debby pretty much raised due to the fact that my mom wasn't ready for children yet or ready to settle down.

"And you fell in love made me and you regretted ever going to Paris." I said knowing the story already.

"The only good thing about it was you. Emma don't lose yourself there okay I won't allow it. Promise me you won't lose sight of what's important your career, your family. Don't lose yourself on that ranch."

"I promise mom. I got to go but I'll call again later today okay."

"Alright, I love you bye."

"Love you too."

My mom is afraid of losing me but really I think she's afraid of me finding myself.

I straightened my hair and changed into a pairof blue jeans and an old t-shirt. Walking down the stairs to the kitchen to find something to eat May smiled at me as she worked around in the kitchen.

"Well, good morning sweetie." She said handing me a plate of food.

It was heaping with eggs, bacon, pancakes, and deliciousness. I had to carry it with two hands to make sure it didn't fall on the floor. As I made my way to a seat at the kitchen table.
