"Hey hoe!"

I pull my keys out of the ignition and look across the field to where my friends are located. They have done more for me in the past months than any of the other people I hung out with ever did. Go figure that the crowd I've been told to avoid my whole life turns out to be the only people I would ever want to be around.

Walking over to them I see the faces I've grown to love over the past six months. Myra, Bobbie, Derek and Shep. Myra sounds like such a pretty name, you'd think a girl that had such a name would be just as pretty right? Wrong. First appearances are everything and her first appearance to me made me think she was about as ugly as it got. It was skewed though; now I know the real Myra and realize how stunningly beautiful she is inside and out.

But when I first met her I didn't like her, and I'm sure she felt the same way. And of course the only reason for it was I was talking to a hot guy I had met at a party and she saw. How the hell was I supposed to know it was her boyfriend? And besides, it's not like he was exactly acting like he was in an exclusive relationship. Let's not forget the fact that he was also the one who made the first move and that he was the one who pushed me against the wall and slipped his hands up my shirt.

I just sat back and tried to feel something, like I had been doing for almost a month. But when nothing happened and he got sick of handling my girls with no reaction to up his ego we started talking. And in struts this girl - or maybe woman was the better word to use to describe her. Long legs, tanned creamy skin, jet black hair with a deep blue streak on both sides of her face, and an amazing rack. I mean I'm content with my C, but this girl had the tits to make any girl feel inadequate and suddenly I was feeling maybe the reason the guy stopped wasn't because of my lack of feelings but because of the lack of anything to feel. This girl had a perfect face, everything even and balanced and so unblemished she could be a model. I wasn't surprised to see her strut up in her little red dress with two cups in her hands, straight to this guy. He turned to her and smiled, acting like he hadn't just been feeling up some stranger at a high school party. I was surprised when she threw the drink in his face, but the expression he had said he had almost expected it. When she turned to me I just stared back. What was she expecting, an apology? Maybe she expected me to turn tail and run for the door. Well she wasn't getting either, rack or no rack; I stood my ground and crossed my arms over my chest.

"What?" I looked her up and down, not like I needed to but because her outfit was pretty sick. If she didn't end up picking a fight I would have to ask her where she got those boots from.

She stared at me a few seconds longer, smirked and gave a sort of chuckle. Then she reached her hand out, the one with the remaining drink in it, like she was offering it to me. Slowly her hand tilted to the side and jutted forward- soaking my top and skirt with what smelled like a mixture of cherry vodka and some sort of fruity beverage.

"That's what, bitch. You think you can just walk in my house and try to scam on my dude? I know he's a jackass, but please, he has standards. Now get out of my house before I kick your ass."

I couldn't help it: I laughed. Here I was at a party, looking for something to do, when here comes along some bitch with self-esteem issues looking for a fight. I may have looked like the petite cheerleader, with the strawberry blond hair and small frame, but that sure as hell didn't make me some spineless wimp that was going to sit there and take this.

The girls face turned to an expression of amused shock, like she couldn't wait to kick my ass but was surprised I had given her the opportunity. By now a small crowd had gathered around in the hallway, blocking any way to get out. From the excited murmurs I could hear this girls name was Myra and apparently "that white girl was gonna get it!" She turned to the guy and handed him the empty cup. "Derek, go get me a refill. Be quick, this won't take long." Derek looked at me, back to Myra and then quickly glanced around the room.
