Chapter 15 A Trap

Rapunzel's POV

I ran and ran as fast as I could. I have no idea where I'm going nor what's up ahead. I was crying and crying and the only person I could think of is Jack. I love him more than Elsa but Jack chose her more than me.
I passed down the snowy mountains and the flowery meadows. Through the green forests and small villages. Now, I'm in another forest. Lost, lonely, guilty, and scared.
I was very tired of running straight for how many minutes and kilometers. I stopped by a big rock covered with caves. Instead of myself leaning against it, I fell inside it. I looked around and I was in a cave. I stood up; somehow, the place looks familiar. Then I saw a light up ahead.
I walked to it. I was very enchanted on how bright the light was. Moments later, the light turned smaller and smaller every time I go near it. I ran, then it grew bigger and bigger. Then finally, I saw the inside view of a rocky fortress surrounding a green grassy meadow with a small clear pond. Waterfalls flow in every corner of the fortress making a rainbow through the beautiful blue sky. In the center of the fortress, I saw a seventy-foot abandoned tower.
Then finally it hit me. I know where I am. This used to be my home before I found out I was the lost princess. I want to get up there but my hair is not long enough.
I look around and made a long laso to help me climb up the tower. It's been a long time I haven't climb nor climbing my tower. How ironic that I want to see the world since I was trap in a tower for sixteen years straight. Now, I've been away from my tower for about five years and I want to see it again.
I reached the top of the tower but the wooden windows were closed. I punched them open, it felt like I was punching styrofoam. A small part of light filled the room. I look around and saw many painting. On the ceilings, the walls, and on the floor. I even saw my most beautiful painting of the lights. I took a step forward but something sharp hit me. It was a glass shard. Then I remember the mirror that fell when Flynn and I was battling Mother Gothel, my fake mother. I also saw some blood stains on the floor too. It came from Flynn, when he was dying on my arms.
     Wait, why did I still love Jack? I love Flynn more than him! Oh no, I made a mistake. What have I done! I screamed so loud that the echoes bounced back. Then a figure came out of the shadows.
   "Now you finally know your mistake" A voice said. It was Pitch.
     "Pitch?! What are you doing here?!" I asked.
     "Have you heard? I kidnapped your friend"
     "No" I fell to my knees. "Why's have you done?!" I shouted.
    "No. It's what you've done" His words hit me. "You were so desperate for love that you were hoping Jack will still come back for you. I told you, love is for the weak. It makes you fail everything you've started. And now, you made trouble. I kidnapped Elsa, her sister is locked up in the dungeon, Prince Hans is ruling Arandelle, and I'm wining the game"
    "What have I done?" I asked myself in whispers. Pitch has a point. If I haven't kissed Jack, this trouble couldn't have happened. It's all my fault. He's wining and the thing is 'what worse can he do next?'.
      "I should thank you. But it would be more fun to kill you" Pitch smiled at me.
     I tried running to the window but Pitch used his shadows to make a barrier. He tried smashing everything to me but I just dodge. I tried using shards from the mirror but he just brakes and slashes them.
     "I see that I'm wasting my time. Well you've been free way too long. Your freedom time is up. I hope this time no one will see you again" Pitch smirked.
      "No!" I tried running to the window to brake the barrier but it became shadows. Shadows that turned into people. They held me back. Pitch on the other hand, cut the vines. Now I don't know how to escape.
"Now you have no escape!" Pitch shouted. He raised his hands and chains locked my hands together. I can't go anywhere but only three feet from the wall.
"You won't get away with this!" I shouted.
"I will and I will start a war! Bombing all your kingdoms, killing everyone you love, especially Flynn and the Big Five. First stop, Arandelle!" His cackle echoed the tower and he disappeared in thin air.
What am I gonna do? I have to warn the Big Five. Wait, I was never one. I focused so much on winning Jack's heart instead of doing my rights as a guardian. I blew it, now everyone is in danger because of me.
          I sat down and leaned my back against the wall. The chains dragging my arms down and the cold air chilling me. I wish I never was a guardian. Nor that I met Jack in the first place.
