Asha's POV:

The plane ride to Japan was so annoying, even though I was asleep most of it. First, Saige was trying to wake me up. She wanted me to see the scenery below us, as well as talk to Marissa because she was too shy to start up a conversation on her own. Eventually, I had had enough of my friend whispering to me, and I snapped.

"Shut up! I'm trying to go back to sleep." I said to Saige in a really angry voice - or as angry as I could in my groggy state-of-mind.

After I said this, the plane was quiet for an hour until Marissa started talking to Saige. By that time, I just wanted more sleep, and I threw a book at them. No one else saw it because, after all, we were riding in a private jet sent by our school to pick us up at the airport we were at first.

Well, anyway, the book didn't stop them, so I decided to use my little... gift... to get them to quiet down. First I started with Marissa.

"Hey Marissa!" I said. "If you don't stop talking immediately, I will make sure everyone at our new school knows who your first boyfriend was and why he dumped you."

"H-how do you know that?" she asked hesitantly, as if she was too afraid to speak.

"It's for me to know and you to never find out," I said in the sweetest voice possible. Blackmail may be considered bullying, but no one can keep me from using my talents. Next up was Saige. Oh, I had lots of dirt on her.

"And Saige... remember that one time in drama club when you had to-" I was interrupted by Saige shoving a small pill in my mouth, holding my nose, and pouring water from a water bottle down my throat. I had to swallow it all or I was gonna choke.

"I offered you a sleeping pill and a pair of noise-canceling ear plugs before we got on the plane. Either you didn't hear me, or you were too tired to bother listening. Honestly, Asha, pay attention when people are speaking to you." Saige scolded me. Then she handed me two small flesh-colored items and instructed me to put them in my ears. The moment I did, every sound around me dimmed to white noise, and I soon fell into a soft slumber.

---

Saige was shaking me, whispering my name, "Asha, Asha, wake up!" On instinct, my leg shot out at the one attempting to wake me.

The kick hit home. I heard Saige, screaming muffled screams of pain, probably holding her nose and mouth.

A couple seconds later, I felt another nudge on my arm, this time with a pillow.

     I groaned, "What is it?"

I heard Marissa reply, "We're here, Asha. In Japan."

I was instantly awake, "Really? We're actually in Japan!?"

Saige seemed to be fine now, "Yes. And they're waiting for us outside."

"Waiting for us? Who?" I asked, reaching for my carry-on.

Marissa grinned, "Our personal welcoming committee!"

After we were all set - Marissa with her giant purse, Saige with her satchel, and me with my backpack - we left the jet, entering a bustling airport filled with Japanese residents. We moved through the crowds, Saige at the lead, seeing as she had a strange knack for finding pathways through dense pedestrians. It went like this for a while, and then we saw our Welcoming Committee (as Marissa called it) waving a large American flag with Madame Martin's Crest emblazoned in the middle, just like the pin we all shared. They were all teens wearing uniforms. The boys wore lavender, and the girls were wearing what looked like someone had blown up a canary and called it a dress. I honestly preferred the boy's uniform, especially since it was my favorite color: purple. Thank goodness we are permitted to wear our American uniforms.

Our uniforms were very different from Ouran's. Saige and I both had long-sleeved white dress shirts underneath the standard gray vest, which was decorated with a purple pattern around the waist. The iron-on Madame Martin's emblem had been temporarily removed to make room for our Exchange Student pins (the American flag thing). We also sported purple pleated skirts with a gray stripe on the edge. Saige's uniform differed from mine only in the way we wore our socks; I wore long black tights, while Saige wore knee-high black stockings. We were required to wear black mary-janes. Saige was always complaining that they pinched her feet. I had worn more uncomfortable shoes before, so to me, they weren't that big of a deal.

I noticed a tall, black-haired boy with glasses standing near the back of the crowd. He seemed to be simply observing, attempting to blend in and get a better view. I recognized him from my... research. His name was Kyoya Ootori, age, 17. Birthday, November 22. Height, 5' 11". Blood type, AB. Most embarrassing moment-

My thoughts were interrupted by a blonde-haired freak bowing in front of my line of sight, referring to me (at least, I think he was talking to me) as 'princess.'

Ugh. I read about this guy, too. His name was Tamaki Suoh, son of the school's Chairman.

"You must be Saige!" He said, grinning.

I responded in a flat, annoyed tone, "No, that's Saige," I pointed to my dead-eyed companion, "I'm Asha."

He blinked, then smiled again, "Of course, that makes sense! My apologies, princess. I'm-"

I interrupted him this time, "Tamaki Suoh, I know. I know all about you."

He blinked once more, then took a step back, "So, you've heard of me, then?"

"You could... say that," I smirked. Saige turned her head to look at me, giving me a dissaproving shake of her curly mahogany hair.

I just now noticed two red-haired twins struggling to pull our suitcases and luggage from the plane's holding area. They got mine out, then what I believed to be Marissa's, and finally, they came to Saige's bags. I remembered the two kennels she and I had agreed on bringing to house our pets. They start tugging on the kennel that held Saige's two young dogs, Edwin and Snickerdoodle.

Now, I don't know if you know this, but a kennel holding two puppies, a bed, a water bowl, and a food bowl is heavy. The twins got it maybe two feet out of the hold, and then dropped it.

    Saige went berserk.

Okay, that's an exagerration, she just hurried over there and warned them that it held living creatures. Then, she made sure the dogs were alright and proceeded to help them carry the rest of our luggage (including the kennels. It seemed Saige was far stronger than the two boys combined... which made sense, seeing as how she studies several different kinds of martial arts).

Tamaki was stilll attempting to get my attention, so I turned back to him and said, "You'll have to excuse me, I'm going to go help... um... that random dude over there that seems frustrated. Sooo....... bye."

I backed away. Slowly at first, then turned around and ran off.

---

In the car that had been rented for us, I found out that the redheaded boys were the Hitachiin twins... famous for their mischievious antics and fashion sense (due to their mother's position as a fashion designer). I didn't see anybody else I recognized at that welcoming commitee. Must have been mostly nobodies.

We reached the house where we were going to stay. There were three bedrooms (which is good, because I stay up late, and Saige goes to sleep sooo early) 2 bathrooms (with showers) a kitchen/dining room combo, and a large living room.

The twins examined the house and commented in slight disgust, "Wow. They're treating you like commoners."

Marissa blinked, also glancing around, "Tell me about it."

I was actually very pleased with the house. Saige, as usual, showed no emotion and proceeded to unpack the kennels.

She set up the animal beds and provision bowls and set the pets loose. While she did that, I chose a bedroom, walked in, and threw myself on the bed with jet lag, not at all fighting the sleep that overcame me.
