I once knew a boy
Who played the guitar
He would stay behind
After classes in the music club
I would always hear him sing
And it was heartbreaking
Like he was singing
For someone who wasn't
Going to hear his voice
Like he was singing to the air
Whispering to the empty space
Telling the blankness
To deliver his message
He sings of misery
Of tears and endless regrets
But who was he singing to?
Was it the girl who was
By his side before me?
The girl who knew him
When he could still smile
Like the sun shining in the morning
I never knew that smile
For when we met
You were surrounded by clouds
Engulfing your light
Hindering your happiness
Preventing you from forgetting

I once knew a boy
Who never loved me
He was the arrow to my bow
And let him go knowing
He will be happier in the wind
