She was beautiful. With her gorgeous green eyes, hazel coloured hair, and angelic smile, she was a vision of beauty and perfection. I just wished I had realised that a year ago...

Stepping aside to let me in, she grinned at me. But there was something in those eyes that wasn't quite right.

Walking up the stairs, Cecilia's screaming grew steadily louder. I walked into her room, and the sound was deafening.

Just as Laurie had described, the second she saw me, she fell silent. I could already imagine how infuriating that could be... Poor Laurie.

Walking over to Cecilia's cot, I placed my hand over her tiny one. She started playing with my thumb, smiling adorably. My beautiful little girl.
I scooped her up in my arms, and planted a kiss on her forehead.

Placing her back in her cot, I walked downstairs, to find Laurie asleep on the rocking chair. I chuckled to myself, then went into the kitchen to make myself a drink.
