*This assignment was to write an emulation (copycat poem) of our favourite professional poem. I chose Elizabeth Barrett Browning's 'How Do I Love Thee'. Here's my version :)

Where You Are

How can I know You are there? Shall I name the ways?

I feel You in the sun and wind and sea

My body knows, so I know why

Must there be Dark and Still and Dry.

I know You in the whisper of a

subdued heart, by light of pain and joy.

I see You in the sacrifice of the love

that spins the world.

I know You with a certainty not shaken,

I hear You in the words they cry,

And the life that stirs within us

When we should be left to die.

I know You are there

Because I am here

And so is beauty and goodness and love.

They may question, and wander to Where

But still I will know You are there.
