Chapter 8: Accidents Happen

"So how did you like the team?" Coach asks us.

"They work pretty good together, that quarterback is pretty dead set on not having me on the team though.'' I say grimly and Coach laughs.

" He's a cocky boy.'' He shrugs and I tell Max I'm going to the bathroom, I head over the hill and past the equipment shed, towards the stand bathrooms.

"Hey!" I hear a yell behind me and I turn around, hoping it isn't that quarter back. I turn around and see the running back i threw to earlier.

"I'm Brandon. That was a damn good throw by the way." He says and sticks out a hand. I shake it and give him a smile.

"I'm Eli Hughes and that was a damn good catch to a damn good throw." I say and he laughs.

"I'm excited that you're playing on our team you know. Jay is so set against it but the rest of us are all for it." He says and I grin.

"Good to know. Jay is the quarter back right?" I ask and Brandon nods.
