chapter 14 Dark one's shadow

I've been traveling for days now. I'ts been 5 days since I have abandoned bradley to continue my quest. My continuous searching has taken a toll on my body, my souless body. I feel like I'm coming closer to reaching my final death. Soon I will be able to fall asleep and never wake up to the life I am living in tradegedy and despair. But for now I walk.

A cool dusky breeze brushes my hair back along the path that leaves no end. I walk/ float across muddy ground covered in moss and pebbles. I follow the path now into a new forest that's completly dark. I turn my head around to see if i can turn back, but it's gone. The path that led me here has vanished and leaves nothing but a gravel walk way. Stumbeling forward I flex my body into a tiny crack between the two trees blocking my way. A dark and hollow forcefield like object wrapes around me and seals me in carrying me forward and spiting me out. All around me are amethyst encrusted crystals covering a gigantic wall around the den. I'ts beutifuly crafted crystal room , but I get the feeling that i'm not alone.

I lean myself up onto the floor and listen to the faint wispers. I look around but there's nobody there, until Ihear a voice. My body turns very still and I close my eyes listening for the sound again.

" You know i can see you right?"a high pitched voice echoes.

I don't make a sound or a movement even though i'm invisible to the naked eye.

"Don't fake it girl I know your there and I can see you hiding."

All of a sudden a women cascades out of the crevice of the crystal wall and is shining bright as she descends. She balances her footing and appears across from me. She is dull with colour and is very tall. She has pale grey skin and heavy dark circles under her eyes. From the looks of it i'm guessing sh'es around late 30's or maybe more.

"You shouldn't have come here' she say's".

"Who are you?" I ask. "

"My name is Lidia and I am the same as you are. A soul lock she stammer's."

"What the hell are you talking about" I reply. "

" Oh hun, you don't know anything do you? We are soul locks to the Dark one. We are chosen by our ancestors blood and then due to that we are taken away from our families and owe a blood oath to him. That means he sends us on these terrible demeaning quests to shader a hopeless innocents life, for the blood oath demanded by our ancestors. Then once we have completed this quest he compels us to stay with him in his lare and then sucks the life out of us rotting our souls locking them up and sending us here forever without a way out."

"So your telling me that I'm locked up here forever, in this souless body unable to die?"

"I'm afraid so, your stuck here with us dying on the inside but remaining the same on the outside."

There was a faint pause until,

" So young, you had your whole life in front of you but were stoped by the dark one. Your soul is now locked up, and whatever you felt, loved, emotionally experienced is being held against you and your never going to get it back she quivered."

" I've been watching you, hoping that this wouldn't happen and that you would be able to concour it, but i'm afraid it's too late. Youv'e waited too long, and your fate is over just like the rest of us."

{As this was said other soul locks descended from the crystal wall and sourounded her poweless body weeping}

"You will slowly turn into one of us, a "nothing" and there's nothing you can do about it she said" "We will help you adjust, and will be by your side replied another. "

"But for now you will be on your own said Lidia."

I let the news soak into my head but can't stop the urge of thinking about Bradley. I step aside to a corner of the room and slump down knowing that this was not my future or destiny but what is now and what will always be.....
