Calum was exhausted.

He stayed up all night and researched what exactly Luke was, getting no response besides "Mythological Creature."

Calum sighed and started his car. Luke is constantly on his mind. How is he surprised? Luke never touched water, had a visible panic attack when Calum was drenched with ocean water around him, and had extremely webbed fingers.

I'm an idiot, Calum confirmed.

Calum pulled into his usual parking spot. The beach was full to the brim. Children were running around and splashing in the water. Calum looked around, hoping to see Ashton so they could surf. He was by the juice bar talking to a lot of his friends from school, all gathered around a central object.

Calum pulled his key out of the ignition, stepped out, and locked his car. While he was making his way over there, one of the guys moved a bit, revealing a small boy, about 5'6 with blonde hair.

Luke.

The boy was giggling, one arm on his hip and the other on a guys chest, clearly flirting. Calum fumed. The guy,Maverick hand one hand around Luke's waist and a drink in the other. Calum bit the inside of his cheek and got halfway there before stopping. He turned around and made his way back to his car. He grabbed his surfboard from the top and made his way toward the shore. He ran into the water before laying on his chest and paddling deeper.

"Look! There's Calum! That's my friend!" Ashton yelled, Calum barely hearing him.
He knew all of their attention was on him now, exactly what he wanted. He saw the familiar lump in the calm waters and turned around, hoping to catch up with it.

Fortunately, he did. Calum stood up and balanced before crisply carving the wave. He smiled happily before making himself fall off.

Soon, his body was encased with water. He didn't dare open his eyes, it would hurt like a bitch. This was the only time he felt at peace. After a few seconds, he felt the burning in his stomach area and swam up for breath. He swiped his hair back and took a deep breath. His board wasn't far off, so he just grabbed it with his hand and stood up.

"Calum right? That was really cool." He hears a feminine voice in front of him, a manicured hand placed on his bare chest. "Thanks." He smiled, trying to be friendly. "Meet me at the juice bar." Calum's eyes scanned her. Not in an attracted way, he was 100% homosexual, the girl was wearing a fringed bright red bikini top, and blue high waisted shorts.

Calum shrugged and followed her. "Get it Cal!" Ashton hooted, grabbing onto Michael's hand. Michael was quiet. Like, really quiet. He barely talked to Ashton but they were dating. Luke's eyes followed them, gagging in disgust. He turned back the Maverick and resumed flirting. Calum opened the door for the girl, she didn't thank him. "You're supposed to pay." The girl picked at her nails. Calum thought she was stupid. He just went surfing! "Don't worry bro, it's on the house." The guy behind the counter smiled. "What can I get you two?"

"I'll have a strawberry smoothie, hold everything fattening and oh I want one of those little cakes with no chocolate on it, make it quick. My names Laci by the way." Directing the last part to Calum.

"And you sir?"
"Nothing, thanks."  Calum was extremely annoyed. Laci was rude as fuck.
"Coming right up guys, you can just stay outside and ring the bell when your stuff is done." The waiter smiled.

Calum nodded and started to say something but was pulled by Laci outside. "Let's hang out with your friends." Laci tugs him, her nails digging in his skin. "Hi Cally!" Calum hears Luke voice, immediately being at ease. "Who are you, again?" Laci grumbled, putting her hand on her hip. "Land boy's boyfriend." Luke said nonchalantly, turning back around. Laci glared. "Also, your hair looks like a blobfish." Luke says without turning around. Laci scoffed before grabbing Mavericks drink and splashing it all over Luke's back. Calum and Luke stiffened for a moment before Luke sprinted behind the buildings, going into an abandoned one from the back door.

Calum followed. "Luke?" He called, stepping in. "Land boy?" He heard from a room, going inside of where the voice was located. He saw Luke lying on the ground, pink tail in sight.

"Get out land boy! Go back to that piece of blubber." Luke yelled, crossing his arms. "Why did you say you were my boyfriend?" Calum mumbled, trying to contain his blush. "Don't flatter your fins, land boy, I was getting her away because she was annoying. All land people are." He grumbled the last part, a scowl on his face. "Your pretty face will get stuck like that." Calum reminded him, kissing the tip of his nose. "Don't to that to me you uneducated swine!" Luke swatted his hands. Calum breathily laughed and grabbed Luke's hand, knowing his tail would disappear soon and he would run away. "Un hand me!" Luke thrashes.

Then Calum noticed that Luke's tail wasn't going away. Luke sighed and held his hand over it. "Leave, Calum.You're annoying me." He whispered before the was tail shimmering, disappearing.

"Holy shit teach me that." Calum gawked
