CHAPTER 2

KENZIE POV 

I haven been able to get Eli off my mind since the first time I saw him. Erica walks in my room with this funny expression on her face.

"Why are you smirking at me like that?" I asked her and she couldn't control her laughter, "OMG E what the hell is so freaking funny?"

Erica finally controlled her laughter and said " So I just got off the phone with Fresh and he says Eli can't stop talking about you and for me to bring you on our date cuz Eli is coming!"

"Huh what! No I can't go omg E he is not my type I mean he's cute and all but he's a thug and ummmm I'm just a plain Jane no you have to call Fresh and tell him I can't make it." I said rambling

"Yo Kenzie calm down obviously there was something that caught Eli's eye about you, so stop doubting yourself I mean look at you your gorgeous and you have this exotic look like you mixed with some ole foreign shit." Erica said making me laugh maybe she was right oh what the heck I might as well go!

It was two days before the date and I had the slightest idea as to where we was going or what I was going to wear. I was sittin down when a text from an unfamiliar number came through my phone.

Text convo:  

917-355-4589: Yo sup Ken Ken this Eli what's goo?

Me: how'd you get my number and I would like to be called Makenzie or Kenzie :)

Eli: yea ok fuck all that what's this I hear you trying to cancel our date

Me: damn Erica has a big ass mouth but yea I don't think it would be a good idea I mean we barely know each other

Eli: that's why we goin out so I can get to know you ken ken but ill holla at you later :)

I didn't even respond to his last text omg I can't believe he really texted me I'm gonna have to fuss Erica out nobody told her to give my number out even though I'm low key excited.

I was getting ready to go to the mall to find me an outfit I didn't even know where we were going so I would have to buy at least 2 outfits. My phone rung signaling a call was coming through and when I looked down it was "him" calling ugh what does he want now!

"Hello" I said answering like I was annoyed!

"Hey Ken Ken its me Eli I was wondering if you wanted to go to the mall with me to get something to wear for our date?"

" I'm actually en route there I guess if you see me speak." And with that I hung up laughing.

ELI POV

" I'm actually en route there I guess if you see me speak."

I can't believe she just dissed me like that oh man and I don't even know what mall she going too, so I just decided to go to the one I knew everybody go too well at least I hope Kenzie would be there.

I pulled up at the mall 30 minutes later and parked my car. I have the slightest idea what I wanna wear on my date, but I do know I wanna be fly as hell for Kenzie. I decided on just going to the Levi store you could never go wrong with Levi's.

Right as I was leaving out of the Levi store I spotted her going into H&M, I walked in behind her and grabbed her by the waist she squealed.

"Hey Ken Ken you said if I see you speak!" I told her smirking

"Nigga what the fuck you scared the shit outta me, like I almost pepper sprayed your ass!" She said while danglin her pepper spray in my face.

"Sorry baby I didn't know I scared you I just didn't want you to get away without me speaking."

"Well hi and bye Elijah ill see you around."

Wow she really left me hanging again, and who told her it was ok for her to call me Elijah I would have to check her on that later.

I finished getting the rest of my outfit for our date. I ended up getting some black 501's Levi's, a red and black polo shirt and a new red and black phillies hat. I decided I would just wear my black forces instead of my red black and white retro 5's.

I headed out to my car and made my way back to the hood. I contemplate on calling or texting Kenzie but I remembered how she played me in the mall. Damn I really like this girl and I don't even know shit about her.
