Mark stared at the cult members outside his house.
They were praying.
He grabbed a bible and opened the front door.
"Read the bloody Bible, you sons o' bitches".
"We're praying for your soul that hasn't been darkened yet", a girl in a black hood said. She had holes in her eyes so she could see, and another hole so that he could see her mouth.
"Look, I don't give a damn if you worship Satan, just get the hell out of here".
"We have free right to pray".
"Get...Hey, isn't that you Elizabeth".
"Yeah, I'm the leader of the Lawrence, Kansas Dark Souls Prayer Group".
"Jesus, and I thought your parents hated praying".
"I am converted by the Lord".
"The Lord wouldn't allow a fourteen year old and her friends to behave like lunatics. I mean, you don't have machetes. Haven't you read 'Ritual' by Graham Masterton".
"That's the religious cult restaurant horror book from nineteen eighty-eight. Oh, good try". She held the Bible up in her right hand; she uttered a prayer for Mark, as he shivered.
"Hey, what about Tad James, II. I thought you and him were dating".
"The Lord comes first before temptation".
"Jesus, I thought the converted were going to The Middle East. I was wrong. All of you are sick. I'm calling the Sheriff".
"There's a new wave of religion in America. And it's coming here".
"New wave. My God".
Mark grabbed the I-phone 6, and dialed 9-1-1.
"9-1-1, what's the emergency?", a female operator asked.
"Yes, there's a group of thirty religious freaks outside my house. Mom and Dad are asleep. Can you do something?".
"What's your name, and address?".
"Mark Bromstein. 888 Place Road, Lawrence, Kansas".
"We'll send police as soon as possible".
"Thank you".

Lawrence, Kansas Sheriff Harlan B. Price, Jr., knocked on the door.
Mark opened it.
"They're over there, praying".
"Look, there's no law against praying. But being in a cult is different".
"They're upsetting the neighborhood".
"Deputy Sheriff Joel Lang is talking to them now".
"Good, because I want them gone from here".
"I'll see what I can do".

"What's your name?", the Sheriff asked.
"Elizabeth Kane Slattery", she answered.
"Why are you bible bashing at ten o'clock in the evening?".
"It's God's will. We have listened to what the book told us to do".
"What book?".
"The library of Dead Souls", she said.
