"ARTHUR YOU IDIOT!"
A large clanking sound emanated through the darkness of night, followed by yelps of pain and surprise.
Mystery sighed.
They had been at this overnight search for about two weeks. The "dog" rolled his eyes, as Arthur ran around the van, trying to escape a rather agitated Vivi. He chuckled weakly, as the shenanigans ensued, his black eyes showing hints of crimson red in them.
He knew.
Mystery knew his time was short. It wouldn't be long until she found him... and that in its own sense would be fatefully dangerous to both Arthur, Vivi, and even Lewis. No matter how messed up the ghost was in his head... that just made him an even more prime target.
It wouldn't be long now.
But then, came the group once more. The group he was tasked to protect... no, not tasked. The group he WILL protect, 'till the ends of the earth.
He rose his head, and swept up the red petal between his paws, to look at it. It was a brilliant lotus petal, the color of blood, seeming to illuminate the darkness around him, leaving him quite grim. If the petal stayed illuminated even now... that means she has grown stronger since the last he had seen her.
And that wasn't a good thing.
At all.
He glared at the petal, before letting it go, watching as it started to blow away with the wind. With that, he rose. And started to pace. There was nothing he could do. He could risk losing them all by revealing his true form and protecting them...
...or...
He could leave.
It was simple.
He could disappear in a flash, and lead her away from them... to keep them safe... to keep her away from the ones he loved... and even if there's another way...
...it's the only shot he's got.
