"Mystery?"
The call rang out into the deep night, lights of a town blinking like stars not far from where they were in the van. Arthur Kingsmen, a mechanic in the making, was currently cowering in the front seat, trying to defend himself from the, now pacified, Vivi Kimura.
"Mystery...?"
The voice began to falter, and panic began to settle in. Arthur straightened, a part of him relieved at the call, and yet another part of him was scared. Mystery? Gone? The silent protector of Vivi, and not to mention, him?
He shivered. Nightmares had to wait. "Viv, are you sure he's gone?" Even without her verbally saying it, from the slight shrill in her voice, her precious protector was missing. "I...I think so... he was right here a moment ago, I swear..." his heart sunk at her mindless babbling, pure and utter fear emanating from her aura.
After all, Mystery was the one that had calmed Vivi down when Arthur was in the hospital. The dog had a calming effect on her, and it would be an understatement to say she owed him a lot. She adored her canine, and although her constant pestering of the dog about having pups, (she always asked Mystery if he could get her black, white, and red puppies. He always vehemently denied, looking horrified at the thought. Arthur had found this exceedingly hilarious.) Arthur knew the dog loved her back, very much, and he also knew the dog wouldn't leave unless he had to. Which could mean multiple things. One, they could be in danger, and the canine had driven away the source. Two, he was taken away by force. Three? Well, there really wasn't a three. The dog would never leave on purpose.
It was slightly terrifying to believe that something may have gone wrong, and the canine may have been hurt. Mystery was adored by all- ...both of them, and the canine loved them back, he was sure. So this could be... either a good thing, or a bad thing.
Arthur hoped it was a good thing.
