I started to do my nervous laugh, because really, I was getting nervous about all of this. "Ski, I need to talk to you." I said.

"Okay, one second!" She laughed, then went back to talking to Johnny. I did my nervous laugh again.

"Now." I snapped. I grabbed her arm and yanked her into the other room. She laughed a little while I kept a straight face.

"What's wrong, Nikki?" Ski asked. I took a short breath in.

"Well, problem is I didn't think you were going to bring James!" I whispered-yelled.

"Well, he is Adams friend!"

By the way, Ski and Adam are twins.

"Yes, I know." I sighed. "It's just, my dad's going to be here soon and I'm not allowed to have James over because my dad doesn't like James at all." Ski shrugged.

"Who cares?!" My jaw dropped.

"I care!" I screamed a little too loud. Adam, Johnny and James came running in.

"You guys alright?" Johnny asked.

"Yeah, don't tell me you're having a cat fight." James teased as he came over and kissed the top of my head. I put my hand on my forehead, then I slapped it on my leg.

"Um, you guys have to go back to Ski and Adam's house." I blurted with a sigh. Everyone, except for Ski, gave me a weird look.

"What?" James asked.

"You heard me. My dad's going to be home soon and I can't have any of you guys here when he gets home so please, I beg you, go home. I don't want to get into trouble." Ski laughed.

"Damn, Nikki, you're such a buzzkill. Come on, guys. Let's go back to my house. We'll order a pizza." Ski said as she made her way to the door. Johnny laughed too.

"Yeah, this is kinda crappy, Nikki." Johnny sighed as he walked behind Ski. I looked at Adam. He did a sad little sigh, then walked with Johnny and Ski. I put my head down. I didn't even want to look at James.

"Hey, Nikki, babe. I understand." James whispered. I looked up at him.

"Really?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah. Hey, I got to go, they're my ride, but maybe, after my hockey practice, I can take you to the movies?" He asked. I smiled.

"I would love that." He smiled also.

"Great, I'll pick you up at around nine-thirty." I nodded.

"Sounds good." He grabbed the side of face and kissed me goodbye, then grabbed my hand, squeezed it, let go, and walked out.
