Recap:

The guy who was just saying something to me that I missed as I was lost in my own dirty thoughts. I could have sworn it sounded like... No that's crazy. I thought there weren't any more left. That the ones in Virginia were the last of that kind. It can't be. I can't be his... mate. Can I?

Oh gosh. Oh sweet jelly beans. I can't take this. I need to leave. Like right away. I grab Matt's hand and start pulling him towards the door, ignoring the growl from Alex, taking my shoes off in the process and motioning for Matt to do the same. I hand my shoes to the person at the counter, practically yank Matt's out of his hands and drag him out, digging my nails into his skin. If he was ... I don't know what I'm going to do. I am just now getting over those months.

I hopped on my bike, handed Matt a helmet without saying a word and took off, going deep into thought.

I know I put up a hard exterior and its 90 percent me. But a small part of me is still hurt. Hurt by him. That monster. That player. That jerk. The one who made me start all this test stuff. I mean I know that it's insane. But it gives me some sort of sick closure. Like what happened to me wouldn't happen to any other girls.

And now this guy, who is very similar to...him... is now suddenly one too. Maybe, maybe he got it wrong. I can't be. I won't be. I refuse to be someone's mate. Especially not Alex's. Why couldn't someone like matt be my mate. I mean if it is going to happen to me, why not someone nice, someone kind and sweet and caring and not so, so, so, attractive. I mean don't get me wrong, being attractive is good but it will be so much harder to resist. And that is clearly my only option right? I mean it would just happen all over again.

I shake my head, trying to get rid of bad memories and realize that I drove to my new house. I get off my bike and look Matt straight in the eyes. "We need to talk. Now." I say as I turn and go into my house, silently hoping and praying that Nick isn't home. That is not what I need right now. I love the boy but he can be a little overprotective and downright annoying. And he'd probably have a heart attack that I actually had a male friend joining me. Well, actually that I have a friend period.

I open the door and march straight up to my room. I sit down on my bed and I say one sentence. "Are you one too?" I could tell Matt knew not to pull any bullcrap so he just took a deep breath and sat down with me. "Yeah, I am... but you aren't. So how do you know what practically this whole town is?" He said, crossing his arms. I know I have a lot of explaining to do right now. It's a pretty long story though and I'd like to hear his first.

"Matt, I promise to tell you everything, after you tell me your story. If you are part of the pack or whatever, why are you always picked on?" He looked down for a while after I said that. "This is the Nightside pack. One of the strongest in the world. My mother, she is the pack doctor. My father was from a different pack. The two packs were at war. My father had been injured and was dying. Now pack doctors typically do not mate with anyone. But my mother saw him and instantly fell in love. She healed him and then one of his people from his pack killed our Luna, which is the female alpha. Our pack killed my father but not before my mother got pregnant. With me. So I am punished for something my father's pack did seventeen years ago. After that our Alpha was never the same. That's why today was so big for Alex. He is the Alpha's son and his mate will soon become the Luna. You will become the Luna."
