Recap:
"Hey it's alright. I would never hurt you.. He pulled me into a warm embrace and held me tight. It was nice. He smelled like pine needles and cinnamon. For a second I forgot everything else existed. It felt like it was just us two.

Then of course Matt had to ruin it by making those awkward cough noises to let us know that we were, in fact, not the only two people.
I quickly let go of Alex and looked down at the floor. Am I blushing? I never blush anymore. What is this kid doing to me...
It must be the mate thing... Yeah that's what it is. "Well, uh I guess I should probably get to class or something." I said awkwardly as I pulled away and walked over to Matt.
"I am sorry I overreacted. It's just, uh, I have a past with... your kind. Maybe one day you will understand..." I turn to start walking back to class. Until he called out. "I would very much like to." I turn to him and look into his eyes. I could tell he isn't lying. "Would you, heck.. I'm nervous. Would you go out with me tonight?" He asked me, rubbing his hand on the back of his neck. Woah. Woah woah woah. Did he just say he's nervous? Alex Bass is nervous.
He cleared his throat and was looking at me expectantly. I then realized I was staring at him with a million thought going through my head. But only one mattered. "Yes."
I swear his face looked like a little child on Christmas. Maybe I judged him wrong... Maybe it was a stupid guess. Maybe this will work out. A girl can dream right?

After answering a million questions from Matt during classes, I was finally free. Matt and I were walking to my locker when I realized something. Well, actually two things. One, I don't know when he is picking me up. And two, I don't know where we are going. What should I dress for? "Hey Matt, do you by any chance know where I am going tonight? Has Alex said anything to you?" I say, glancing at him with my biggest hopeful puppy dog look.
"Uhhhhh. Well. He uh. You see.. No. No he hasn't." Matt said sheepishly, looking down at the floor. I love how he can't lie to me. It's awesome.
"Matt, I can tell you are lying. It's obvious. So just tell me the basics and how to dress and I will be on my merry way." I say, playfully punching him on the arm.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------30 mins. I wasted 30 mins trying to get it out of Matt. Clearly that boy has some willpower because he didn't even budge with my glare. I mean goodness he would be a good prisoner in war. Wouldn't give up a thing.
I guess that means I'll just have to go with the simple jeans and a t-shirt. Maybe I'll put on a band t-shirt. Maybe the new Led Zeppelin one I just got.
I get into my car and head home to shower and change before he picks me up. I go a little lighter on the makeup and throw on some regular black combat boots with my jeans. I look at the clock and see that I have twenty minutes until Alex gets here. I decide to go downstairs and listen to music while I wait to control the nerves.
I don't normally get nervous, especially on dates but my stomach is a little uneasy. I put in my earbuds and zone out. I don't even hear the doorbell ring until Matt texts me and tells me to take out my earbuds and open the door. he knows me too well.
