As soon as I arrived home, I throwed myself onto my bed.
But I didn't feel any better.
In fact, it got worse.
For fuck's sake, I looked like a zombie.
I didn't feel like flu, but I felt... horrible.
I'm not in the mood of going out of my room at the moment. I can't bother Wonwoo who's working. He needed peace to do his work.
Then I felt my phone buzzed. The buzz came from inside my bag, which is laid on my bed.
As I laid down, I picked it up.
"Hello?" I said.
I could hear Wonwoo's voice from the other said of the phone, panickly said, "A-Aggie, are you okay? I felt something odd."
"I'm fine," I simply replied.
"Where are you now?"
"I'm at home. I don't feel really good so I went home earlier."
Wonwoo sighed, "Okay. Get yourself some rest."
"Okay. Love you."
"Love you too."
The call ended with several beep sounds.
My head was pounding like crazy. Never been this painful before.
I couldn't ask Wonwoo, neither did Dino. The only name that went across my mind was one of the staff in the café, Valerie.
By the time she was on the phone, she spoke up first, "Hello?"
"Hey Val, It's Aggie. Umm how's Wonho doing?"
"He just made his first coffee and brought it to the costumer. So cute!"
I only giggled with the energy I have left.
"How about you? Are you alright?"
"I-I don't know actually."
"Well thanks to you, I have to do dual shift today."
"Aww don't be so mean. But can I ask you a favor please?"
"What favor?"
"Can you take Wonho home instead of Dino?"
"Umm... sure. Why?"
"Nothing, just... please help me."
~~~
Valerie finished her shift at 5, then she took Wonho home as she promised.
I was having a nice sleep when the door clicked open.
Thinking it must be Wonho, I forced myself to wake up although my head was still pounding.
Without even minding how I look, I went out of my room to see Valerie.
"Hey, Aggie. I told Wonho to knock first but he seems like he knows the passcode." she greeted.
I smirked, "It's okay. He's big enough to do so."
Then Wonho ran toward me with his arms wide opened, "Mommy! Are you okay?"
I forced a smile, "I'm okay, sweetheart. Go change your clothes."
As Wonho ran to him room, I approached Valerie.
"How you doing?" she asked.
"Not really good. I think it got worse after I have some sleep."
Valerie only nodded. Seeing my zombie-like face, she widen her eyes in suprise.
"You look horrible." she simply said, "Let me check you."
Valerie had a doctor degrees. Her dad owned a hospital and she worked there. She's actually a doctor in ER; and a specialist in therapy. The same as me, her part-time job was a café worker. I was wondering why wouldn't she open her own clinic and work there during her spare time, but she refused to do so.
She began checking me ㅡ as a therapist ㅡ by telling me to do some inhale and exhale stuff and asking about the symptoms of my ilness.
"Your breathing is good, no sign of flu." she said as she remove her hand off me.
"Then what's wrong?"
"Well... it's not anemia either, your symptoms is nearly a usual sign of..."
She stopped mid-way and began rummaging her bag to find something.
"Sign of what?"
My eyes were hugely widen when her hand went out of the bag, "Pregnancy."
"P-pregnancy?! Wh-"
I never even thought of getting pregnant, but it gave me goosebump when she pull out a test pack from her bag.
"Your son's curiosity is no joke. I had to lie to Wonho when I say I had to go to the drugstore to buy cutie bandaids." she whispered.
I remained dumbfounded as my index finger pointed at myself, "Y-you bought this? For m-me?"
"Uh-huh. You're welcome."
After Wonho changed his clothes, he ran to me with a bandaid in his hand.
Of course, I quickly hid the test pack behind my back.
"Mom, auntie Val bought me a cutie bandaid! Look look!" he said eagerly as he showed off a cute yellow smiley bandaid plastered on his hand.
"That's cute. Have you thanked auntie Val?"
Wonho blushed and slightly bowed, "Thank you, auntie!"
Valerie giggled, "Okay, see you tomorrow, Wonho!"
"Okay.Bye bye auntie!" Wonho waved goodbye eagerly.
"You too, Aggie." she leaned closer to my left ear and whispered, "I hope it comes out positive."
~~~
Tonight, Wonwoo went home earlier; because he thought I was sick so he forced himself to come home earlier.
"Aggie! " he clasped my face between his palms, "Oh my God, you look so pale! Are you okay?"
I giggled, "I'm fine. Don't be so dramatic."
He frowned, "I was worried. I bought snacks on my way here."
I peeked at the plastic bag full of my favourite snacks ㅡ including dried beef jerseys, the love of my life.
Glaring at him, I chuckled, "You are weird, Jeon Wonwoo. Instead of giving me medicine, you brought me snack."
Then he let out a sheepish smile. So cute.
He took me back to my room and let me sleep as he served Wonho dinner. I didn't feel hungry so I didn't join them.
My hand grasped underneath the pillow and reached the test pack I was hiding.
Should I really do this?
