Both figures turned to me; one seemed confused, trying to recall memories, while the other one eagerly ran toward me and dragged my hand closer to the confused figure.
Wow, I didn't know my voice was that loud that it was audible to them.
"Aggie, you remember Kim Mingyu? The guy from Wonwoo's class?"
The confused figure finally got to his sense, "Aaah Aggie! Now I remember. No wonder your face looked familiar."
Then, a voice called for Dino from somewhere in the kitchen. He then strolled to the kitchen and left us in an awkward situation.
To cut off the awkwardness, we decided to sit in one corner.
"So who's throwing the birthday party?" I asked as I slurped my lychee tea.
"Oh it's my girlfriend-"
"Oppa!"
A girl cut off his sentence when she came and back-hugged Mingyu.
"Who's this?" she whispered, but loud enough for me to hear.
"This is Aggie, my high school friend and also the one who let us throw the party here." he said, exaggerating his words a bit.
"Oh no I just work here..." I cut.
"Aggie, this is Seoljin, my girlfriend."
I threw a friendly smile and extended my hand and she shook it in a friendly way too.
"Thank you for letting us have a party here. It's all perfect." she said as she clutched her arm with Mingyu's arm.
"Oh no it's-"
"Oppa, you should try the chocolate fountain over there. It's delicious."
Once again, my words got cut.
When his girlfriend stopped being spoiled and left for the chocolate fountain, Mingyu continued the conversation.
"So umm... y-you're pregnant." he focused on my expanding stomach.
"Yeah, this is the last day I work here before I take 3 months off."
"O-oh, congratulations..." Mingyu nodded in acknowledgement, "Is this the first one?"
"No, the second..."
He only nodded as his mouth shaped 'ah' without sound.
"So who's the groom?"
"Jeon Wonwoo."
Mingyu who was slurping his iced americano suddenly chocked when he heard Wonwoo's name.
He wiped his mouth afterward, "J-jeon Wonwoo? The vampire?"
Aggie rolled her eyes, "Is something wrong with that?"
"Dude why him? You're too good for him. WAY too good!"
Aggie snuffled, "Excuse you? What makes you better than him?"
"Look, it's not it-" Mingyu remain shut with his palm crumpling the used tissue and seemed like he was thinking for quite long time.
"Remember the girl that got killed in the lab when we were high school?"
"... yeah?"
"There were two injection-like holes in her neck, right? But there wasn't any drugs found in her blood."
Mingyu's fore finger tapped the table several times, searching the right words to use.
"I heard from my vampire friend, no offense, that every 7 years, every elder vampires who are having a prolonged illness and have a son who has reached his mature age, must give his father a young blood to sustain their age."
I wrinkled my forehead, "Sorry I don't understand..."
Mingyu lightly growled, "Does Wonwoo's father still exists and is having a prolonged illness?"
"Yes?"
"Then, his duty is to give his father a young blood, so that his father can live longer. Got it?"
I nodded, "Kay, but what does this have to do with the girl?"
"We suspected that the girl was Wonwoo's first target, but he failed to control his lust so he ended up drinking her blood for himself. Then he disappeared to hid from his failure.
Not long after, he showed up again – to find his second target. Then he found you, thinking that you might be the perfect blood for his father."
I flinched at his story.
Wonwoo has never told me about this.
"So... do I have to surrender my blood now?" I asked innocently.
"Too late. You're already stained."
"S-stained?"
"I mean, you already have a descendant, that means your blood is no longer young blood."
"O... kay so is this young blood things still valid?"
"Yup, but with new rule; the first grandson from the first son."
I attempted to draw a scenario in my mind and muttered, "The first son is Wonwoo and the first grandson is Wonho so... WONHO!"
"Yes, it's your son's blood that'll keep him alive."
"Wait, is this even real? Or you're just making story up?"
"Why would I make story up? You know my IQ is lower than a grasshopper."
He's right. He is dumber than a grasshopper.
"Fyi, I'm not telling this to scare you the fuck up but I don't make things up."
Okay now I'm scared.
