I shook my head trying to forget him. I stared outside watching the blurry cars speed by. I saw the orange-ish sunlight from the sunset. I bumped in to my reflection every once in a while. It seemed really nice to be outside, staring down the sunset from a hilltop and feel the breeze pass by.
I soon fell fast asleep feeling tired from the car ride. However I felt a sudden rush of wind attack me and I quickly woke up. My mom giggled like a witch as the window rolled back up, 'You're so nice mom,' I said sarcastically. 'I know,' she said as she laughed with her squinted eyes and her unforgettable smile. 'Not to sound like a five year old-' my mom interrupted me, 'Sadly,' I shook my head laughing politely, 'but... Are we there yet?!' I yelled. She laughed and said, 'Yes, we are,' she said smiling, 'but I'm dropping you off there. Me and Alex's mom talked so you can have a sleepover.''Mom, I didn't pack any sleeping clothes or extra clothes,' I said narrowing my eyes. Then my mom took a bag from under her seat and tossed it to me, 'I packed it for you.' I zipped it open and rushed all around it. She packed my gray soccer shoes, white sleeveless tank top blouse, and some black leggings for soccer and a gray sports bra and other clothes.
Haha a bra. My mom is so cute.
'We're here,' my mom said parking. I pushed the car door open and strapped the bag over my shoulders. I walked passed the park with my mom and saw the field in sight. I rushed over there while smiling on the way and saw Alex enter the field. I yelled, 'Hi Alex!' Alex rolled the ball around with his foot hovering on it. 'Hey Mary!' We smiled each other.
I felt tingle in my body which I never felt with anyone before. I shook my head and took a seat on a nearby bench. The boot clicking from my mom's heels grew louder and louder. 'I'm going now Marianelle, take care!' She whispered at my ear. 'Bye mom,' I said giving her a light kiss on the cheek. She walked away.
Alex turned to his couch and talked to him about something. He flicked his thumb around the area I was sitting and gave a debatable but firm nod. Alex dribbled the ball to me until he appeared in front of me. 'Mary you could sit up closer,' he said pointing to a closer bench to the field, 'if you want.' I looked over and nodded my head. I sat up and paced regularly to the bench. Alex walked back to the field smiling.
I threw my fist up in the air, 'Kill 'EM Alex!' I shouted. He looked up and lightly laughed.
A whistle blew assembling all of the 11 members of the soccer team. 'Okay, before you guys practice team work, you guys need to go stretch,' He said eying everyone in the huddle circle, 'regular routine, guys! Let's go, go, go!' The couch shouted clapping his hands together.
They all sighed at different times as they seem to be heading around the field. The couch soon walked over to the bench, 'Ahh, you must be Marianelle, Alex's friend,' he said throwing his hand over to make a handshake, 'He talks about you often.' He laughs. I lifted my hand to shake his big, dry hands. I laugh lightly as I feel my face turning red. I bit my lip hiding a flirtatious smile. He leaned on a gray cement wall and watched the players run around the field.
'Finish your lap boys!' He blew his whistle, 'Ricky, start jogging or its three more laps for you.' He said pointing at a boy with a short black hair that had emotionless black eyes. He looked down and sighed, he started jogging. Though he kept his eyes here; not the couch or Alex's mom. He was looking straight at me.Alex was the first person to finish his laps and followed so many other boys. The last person was Ricky. 'Give me a second couch,' Ricky said, 'Okay, we're gonna start without you,' the couch said. Ricky nodded and sat to the empty spot next to me. 'You're Marianelle?' He asked after opening a refreshé water bottle and taking three drinks out of it. I nodded, keeping eye contact. 'You look pretty,' he said without hesitation. I narrowed my eyes and awkwardly thanked him. He got up and ran back to the field. He joined in the stretching, he did arm circles and walking lunges.
