Her Sad Song

Her sobs they sung

What words could not.

They told of her troubles,

Her fears and her sorrows a lot.

But not many could hear her song,

For it was buried deep beneath

Under a gleaming smile

With gritted teeth.

But there was one who could see through her fake smile

And wished to comfort her

So they tried everything in their will

To make her emotions stir.

Though she didn't notice

And only continued with her song,

Which carried through the wind

Flowing all night long.

They didn't give up, but only got stronger.

With a burst of courage, they said

"I can hear your sad song,

Every night it comes to me filled with dread."

She smiled. She laughed.

She chuckled and looked at them.

"Do not worry" She said.

"For I have sung this song for while, making me numb."

They stared at her in disbelief

As she skipped off

Humming her sad song once more

And then they walked the other way with a scoff.
