The Hidden Hand

World Secrets

Boston, December 1773.
(3rd Person POV)
The streets of Boston were in chaos, two British ships docked in Boston Harbour delivering tea to the colony were currently surrounded by the Sons of Liberty. The ships were currently docked by land and members of the Sons of Liberty were currently dumping boxes of tea into the cold waters of Boston Harbour, the British colony troops however weren't pleased and were also currently trying to snuff the fuelling fire that was brewing in Boston.

Amidst the chaos and riots in Boston, in the frontier a group of British and Sons of Liberty men gathered at a fort outside the city, a fort hidden and kept secret from both sides. The men surrounded a chest that was glowing slightly, the glow was red and gold and mesmerised the men around it, but one man was not taken in by the light and this man was their leader,
"Today we mark the beginning of our long planned goal" the leader announces
"The chaos in Boston is good cover sir" a man says
"yes indeed it is, I already have men raiding the fort in the city" the leader says
"this won't be done so suddenly sir" another man says
"yes, it could take years, we only have one piece of a more complex device" the leader says
"where did you find such a thing?" a British man asks
"in the waters around New York, I brought it here when it started to glow more intensely to which we found what was inside the Town Hall" the leader explains
"do you have any idea what it's capable of?" a man asks
"I know I can accomplish what we want but to the extent of its power and range, we will have to wait until all the pieces are united" the leader explains as the gates to the fort open and British troopers enter, walking up to the leader.

The troopers walk up to the leader and the one that looks like the captain hands over a golden object to him along with a piece of rolled up paper,
"you found it, and what's this?" the leader questions unrolling the paper, reading it over before pocketing it
"what was it sir?" a man asks
"clues to the next piece" the leader says
"where to next sir?" the troopers ask
"for you two, your journey is complete" the leader says as he aims a gun at one of them, another man walking up next to him aiming at the other
"sir?" one trooper questions
"you are disposable, and you have fulfilled your purpose, we thank you for your service and now its time to say goodbye" the leader says as two gun shots echo through out the frontier and two men lay dead, blood pooling around them
"so, where to next?" a Sons of Liberty man asks
"two places, the first place is London, the second place is the Caribbean" the leader explains before he starts to walk towards the gates of the fort, the rest of the men following, the bodies of the troopers left behind for someone else to find and deal with.

The Eastern Front, France.
September 3rd, 1943.
The mysterious group had grown in numbers over the years and they had expanded across the world having base of operations in major cities in key countries. The group kept to the shadows and pooled their resources together, becoming more and more powerful every year. By the Industrial Revolution they had gained a foot hold into world powers, having pull in Europe, Asia, America and Australia, the group had travelled far and wide for pieces to their secret device, and those travels had taken them now to France and the Eastern Front. The group wasn't there to fight though, they were there to find a secretly hidden underground bunker created a long time ago, before their group was formed.

The device glowed more and more as they approached one of the trenches on the Eastern Front, killing anyone who asked to many questions about why they were there, they made their way towards an underground war room and passage ways used to move the troops into areas to counter the Germans and their allied forces. The device glowed the brightest when they arrived at a dirt wall and two men behind the leader started to dig into the wall until they broke through to a corridor made of brick and concrete.

The men walked down the corridor to a metal door at the other end until they came to a stop, the door had no handle but only strange markings over the entire door. The leader took the device and brought it up to the door to which the markings glowed gold and red before the door opened by sliding upwards, revealing another piece to the device in the middle of the room,
"we have found another piece" one men says
"we have indeed, and from the looks of the device it is nearly completed" the leader says picking up the new piece and adding it to the device
"This world war has been good cover for us" another man says
"we won't always be this lucky" the leader counters
"you are right sir, we must come up with more ways to find the remaining pieces" a third man says eyeing the others
"The Hand must find ways to keep to the shadows and not rely on war time events to gain what we need" the leader says
"well we do have holds on world governments, maybe we could use them to more of an advantage" a fourth man suggests
"good thinking, come we have much to do before this war has concluded" the leader says as they leave the secret chamber and the trench on the Eastern Front, heading towards a car nearby to head back to Paris.

New York City, America.
July 13th, 2012.
The years went on and the pieces were less and less frequent, until only one was left to find in the world. The 21st century had come around and the mysterious group known as The Hand had established themselves across the world much better than before, they had gained even more power in governing bodies worldwide and had built a tower under the disguise of a Technology super giant called Saba Technologies in Lower Manhattan. The tech super giant was used to test their advances in technology and to test ways of protecting their group from the effects of their great work. Saba Technologies had divisions in every major city and most of the worlds tech giants worked under them, from popular phone companies to popular gaming, computer and TV companies, even small time and minor tech companies were under their banner.

This global strangle hold had many advantages and including some major controls in global governments edged The Hand ever closer to their long term goals, but their power didn't go unnoticed however, as groups formed around the world to find out what The Hand were and what they were planning. many theories had come out as well, many dubbing the group 'The Hidden Hand' but one theory The Hand was actively trying to destroy, one that could put a holt to their plans, the theory that there was a device with such power it could control a population in an instant and that there was a secondary device with the power to counter its effects. The Hand knew of both and were collecting pieces to one of them, but the possibility that there was a secondary fail safe device could not be allowed.

The Hands plan would change the fate of the world, change what it meant to be human and The Hand would stop at nothing to see this change happen, even if it meant outing themselves to the world. The fail safe if it was real would be found and destroyed no matter the cost and The Hand would succeed.
