You Thought Wrong

Chapter 14

*Nicole's POV*

I face timed my parents last night, they said they had a surprise being sent over to us. They said it should be here today. Apparently uncle Charlie has to pick it up from the post office.

I basically talked to Ethan all morning. Yea, he lives right above us but honestly I was to lazy to go up there. I heard someone open the front door. It must have been uncle Charlie with our surprise. But I heard a second male voice. I walk out of my room in curiosity, still talking to Ethan. I instantly dropped my phone at the sight of my "surprise".

"AIDEN!" I yelled as I ran into his arms.

"Hey I've missed you." He replies.

"I've missed you too! How did you get here!?!

"Mom and dad flew me up here." Aiden is my 21 year old brother. The one that's living on his own now. (Check chapter 2 if you don't remember her mentioning her older brother.)

"Kayla guess who's here!?!" I yell.

"Who?" She walked out rubbing her eyes. She just woke up. Her eyes widened and she repeated my acts, yelling his name and running into his arms.

"So I thought maybe you guys could show me around LA today?" Aiden stated, but it came out more like a question.

"Yea sure I have nothing to do today." I reply.

"I actually have plans today but I'm available tonight!" Kayla smiles. I think she's hanging out with Gray. They've gotten really close lately.

"Unfortunately I have to work today so why don't you two explore LA and maybe we can all go out for dinner tonight." Uncle Charlie suggests.

"Sounds like a plan!" Aiden says excitedly.

"Perfect!" Kayla supports.

"Alright, I'm gonna go settle in. Nicole go start getting ready we'll leave in 20 minutes." Aiden says.

"Ok!" I say super excited. I haven't been with my brother in a while so I'm super happy to hang with him again.

I begin walking to my room when I realize my phone is still on the floor from when I dropped it. I pick it up and see that Ethan has hung up. Hm...

Oh man. I still haven't told Aiden about Ethan. He's one of those really overprotective brothers. He might just scare Ethan away. I'll just keep it on the DL for now.

*Ethan's POV*

Aiden? Who's Aiden? Why is he so important that Nicole had to forget that she was even talking to me?! I was so mad I hung up so I didn't have to hear he rest of the conversation. Maybe she had another boyfriend back home that decided to visit her. Is that possible? My heart began to race in fear that I might lose her, My face became red because I was so mad, My fists clenched at the thought of this Aiden kid.

I calm myself down thinking that I might be over reacting. Maybe he's nobody. Maybe he is no threat to our relationship. I might have to talk to her and ask about Aiden. That sounds like a good idea, I'll make plans with her now.

I text Nicole but there was no response. I tried calling her but she didn't answer either. Is she hiding something? Before I come to any conclusions I text Kayla.

E: hey why isn't Nicole answering her phone? I want to make plans with her today.

K: Nicole already has plans with Aiden. I think she turned off her phone. Sorry. Maybe tomorrow :/

I don't even bother answering her. Seriously!?! He's already interfering! My jaw clenched and I threw my phone against the wall in anger. Thank god it had a life proof case on it or else it wouldn't have survived.

To let out my anger I thought I might as well go jogging and forget about all of this. I get dressed in some basketball shorts and a muscle tee, throw on my running shoes, and start heading outside.

....

I was so angry I didn't even realize I ran all the way to the beach, that's about 4 miles. I'm finally relaxed and begin walking back home. I spot Nicole with a kid that looks a little bit older than me. It must be Aiden. AND HE HAS HIS ARM AROUND HER SHOULDER!

No... He did NOT just kiss her on the cheek! My heart sank and I got so heated. I pace in their direction and approach them. Her eyes widened in worry when she spotted me.

Oh.

"Oh hi Ethan!" She smiled nervously.

"Hi." I said with no emotion as I crossed my arms.

"Who's this?" Aiden questions.

*Nicole's POV*

Oh no oh no oh no. This wasn't supposed to happen. Aiden is gonna get really overprotective really fast.

"I'm her..." Ethan starts, still looking angry. What's his deal?

"Friend!" I finish for him. "This is Ethan, and he's my friend." Ethan's heated face flushed, and his sadness was visible. He knows I'm lying to hide this from my brother, right? I mean it's pretty obvious, for him at least.

"Wait is this the same Ethan that Kayla's obsessed with? Ethan Dolan?" Aiden laughs. "Woah! How did you guys meet?"

"On the plane to LA. Man, that's one heck of a story that I can tell you later." I reply.

"Hey Aiden!" Ethan's anger returns. "Guess what!? I'm her Boyfriend."

My heart dropped when Ethan said that. My brother is gonna freak!

"Boyfriend!?" Aiden furrowed his eyebrows together.

"Yes! And who are you to put your arm around her and kiss her on the cheek?" Ethan pokes his chest. Na Uh, he did not just say that.

Before Aiden could yell I began to speak.

"What? You think I'm cheating on you? Wow. We literally just started dating and you already don't trust me?"

"Huh?" Ethan looks confused.

"Aiden is my brother. I can't believe you think I would do such a horrible thing."

"You never told me you had a brother..."

"Well she does and you better run before I get my hands on you..." Aiden threatens.

Ethan looks between Aiden and I worriedly like if he's begging me for help. But I just gave him a blank stare letting him know that he's in his own this time.

He starts walking back in the direction of the apartment and Aiden turns to me.

"You have a boyfriend!?! I do not approve." He remarks.

"Aiden I don't want to talk about it. Can we just go back home?" I'm too mad at Ethan to even talk about him.

"Fine. But we will eventually talk about it."

We get an uber to take us back home and honestly I just want to forget about going out tonight. I can't believe Ethan.

Guys I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a while. I noticed that a few of you guys actually like this book and that makes me so happy. 😆 I'll try to update when ever I get the chance. Just school is so overwhelming now that there's so much testing. Hope you guys understand. Ily!
