"I don't love him. We just started dating but I don't just want some stupid summer fling. No. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't get involved in any relationship just to mess around." I rant to my sister.

"Would you please calm down? It's not the end of the world. You guys are together now right? And you are still in that mushy honeymoon phase where everything is perfect with the world. Doesn't that give you guys an excuse to visit each other all the time?" She responds.

"It's not that simple... wait. Why aren't you freaking out? Weren't YOU the one who worshiped them? Where's the girl who cried over them every week huh?"

"Well the tables have turned now haven't they? We're friends with them now and that gives me every reason to brag about it to my friends when we get back home. I'm content with my life." She smiled with satisfaction and returns her attention to her phone.

"You are no help. I'm gonna go find Alex." I put on my shoes, grab my bag, and walk out the door.

As I walk out the building and wave for a cab, I dial up Alex and he answers without any hesitation.

"Yello" is the first thing I hear.

"Meet me at Starbucks in 10."

"Nicole I'm kinda busy right n-"

"Now!" I hung up without another word knowing he wouldn't bail on me even if he was doing something else at the moment.

Alex fulfilled his duties as I saw him walk through the front door of the Starbucks I was so patiently waiting for him in.

"Okay. What the emergency?" He sighed as he sat down in the chair opposite from me.

"You're such a good friend." I sighed in return as I slid him the same drink he gets every time we come here to talk.

"Tell me something I don't know." He smirked.

"Okay. Did you know that the boyfriend that I just finally got a hold of is going on tour for the entire summer?"

A long pause was hanging over our heads until alex blurted out "I said tell me something I don't know"

"You knew!?!" I raised my voice at him.

"I knew before you even showed up in California."

"Why didn't you warn me then?" I ask frustrated.

"Because..."

"Because what?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Because I knew you be upset if I told you that..."

"That what, alex!? Finish you're goddamn sentence!"

"That I was joining them on tour." He rushed his words before he covered his ears in fear of my reaction. But all I did was stare at him with my mouth wide open. He uncovered his ears when he waved his hand in my face to ensure that my mind was not in outer space.

When my mind finally returns to planet earth, the gravity pulls my head down on the the table making a loud thud sound.

"Why are you all leaving me alone to die this summer?" I breathed on to the table.

"If it make you feel any better I'm only staying half the tour." He tries to comfort me.

I let out a little sigh of relief knowing that I wouldn't be stuck babysitting my sister the ENTIRE summer.

"I guess it helps a little. But what am I supposed to do about the next few weeks?" I shoot my head back up from the table.

"I don't know. Hang out with Nate and the others." He suggests.

"Ugh I barely know those freaks." I lay my head back down.

"So? You barely knew me. Be the social butterfly you are and make some friends."

"Okay but you and I only became friends through a weird incident I don't feel comfortable talking about right now."

"Errr... um... I guess you're right. How bout we go make some plans before the twins and I leave? That way it isn't so awkward between you and the rest of the guys anymore. Deal?"

"Fine."
